Redweek listings are just sitting online, not many are renting, a new phenomena and a waste of money for owners at $59 for verify/ protect

As long as the renter doesn't change the sort to verified first, and they leave the order in date order, they should see everything fairly.

I still think RW is making a big mistake with the verified/ protected listings by charging such a premium with so many not renting. Paying for a listing and having it sit there without an inquiry is really frustrating.

I will also be listing my weeks on TUG.

The default order lists verified rentals first (Redweek's rentals first.) The renter has to actively change it to sort by date using the drop down menu. That changed about 6 mos. ago or maybe more?

I used to not have to sort by date every time I go into Redweek to look at any resort. Now I have to sort by date every single move I make on Redweek.

There is a listing on Redweek for a timeshare unit for sale that I purchased on ebay. The listing organization has not removed the sold unit. It was for sale on both ebay and redweek. I have my completed deed already.

I would bet that renting at MF or a couple of hundred dollars above MF would rent out easily. It's one's perspective of what is "at any price".
I 100% agree with you which is what I do with my 52/50 strategy which is having no problems renting

Redweek looks very different today. Check your listings.

The verified say View and Book, the DIY listings say View Posting.

The resorts with a lot of listings, like Westin Ka'anapali, only the weeks that are verify/ protect are listed, and there is a "view more" to see other listings. Even choosing the view more, you still cannot see the listings that are not verify/ protect. There are some listings that are duplicate verify/ protect that are under the "view more." If you do not sort by date every time you go to a resort with a lot of listings, you cannot even see your own DIY listings. They just aren't there. This is a bold move by Redweek to manipulate us to use their verify/ protect listings, so we have a chance to rent. How many people are missing the DIY listings because they aren't choosing the date sort.

This is looking very different for me. The changes I have seen over the last 3 days...

It's not good, and prospective renters are going to have a very difficult time finding DIY listings. This is all meant to help Redweek, not us. I am unimpressed.

A question about the View # More. How do they determine which one is shown vs. those that are hidden beneath the fold? Does it go by listing date?

Screenshot the whole webpage not just a snippet. No way for us to compare apples to apples otherwise. I don't see "view more" but when on featured sort only the protected ones are at the top which has been for awhile as you know.

Note, many web coders stupidly think people still don't have real data on mobile, so instead of allowing infinite scrolling you would get a "view more" button at the bottom of page. I am almost always on a laptop so wouldn't have this issue.

So how do you login to "classic" Redweek? I understand that classic really only has to do with creating a new listing and using the old tool that shows the "classic booking tool".

Even when I search by date, the list still groups listings for the same dates. You have to click the View # More to see all the listings for a single date. This happens on both DIY and Verified listings.

Yes, this is so different. I use a laptop. Not sure what others are using.

Nonetheless, I put my listings on VRBO to hopefully get some rented. I have Sheraton Desert Oasis I need to list as well.

I am just tired of the constant money grab by Redweek. I hope renters know to uncheck the box and then to sort by date. Even with a date sort today, Rick saw the DIY listings on the bottom. He couldn't get them to show within the verify/ protect.

This seems to deemphasize the verified and protected listings, as they just get that little green checkmark.

For me, the default for the verified and protected box was unchecked.

I think that having "featured" as the default view is pretty normal for every internet shopping website. Most people would know to search by date.

I did not click "more filters."
I did not click "with booking protection" - the default is unclicked.
The only thing I changed was "sort by date."
I see all of the listings, sorted by date:

I have a unit at WKORV I usually rent out on Redweek, but no luck so far this year. I tried to list on VRBO, but it asks for my "Transient Accomodations Tax ID" and my "General Excise Tax ID" and won't accept the listing without these. (I looked at the Maui County website on these items, but it seems hopelessly bureaucratic.) Redweek doesn't require either ot these, have you run ito this problem on VRBO?

IMNSHO, VRBO is not well suited for 1 week timeshare rentals - it is geared for full time condo and home owners.

Nonetheless, I would rather deposit the week at the end of the year than take a measly amount of money and be in the negative on the week. RW would make a lot of money on that rental.

;)Maybe "people" can't. Maybe it it Rdwk making the offer so you will have some "success" and stop complaining about them. Sorry if not funny, but I find the whole "Redweek sucks more & more value out of the TS Rental Market" intriguing. Not surprising. as soon as people here started talking about this Verify/Protect stuff, I figured Rdwk would come up with new "features" & complexities & intrigues to start sucking the value into their pockets. And the process will continue. The camel's nose is in the henhouse and the fox is waving him in.

certainly, Rdwk's calculations incl the cost of TS owners depositing & exchanging these weeks. They have an AI Bot calculating this stuff on all the listings while we sleep
