?For those more familiar than I, is there a "point calculator" on the Vistana web-site? Hyatt has one and it is really useful for planning on how to use your points, even if a week has not opened up yet or is otherwise unavailable. It appears on Vistana web-site it will only tell you how many points are needed for an available weeks or a week in home resort preference period.

Specifically I am looking for the number of points required for a Sun-Fri stay at Lagunamar over Thanksgiving 2018? Best I can figure is I need to break out the old paper catalog.

There isn't - but there is a Staroptions Chart - it is posted in the Owner Resources sticky at the top of this forum. It shows the Staroptions requiried for each day of the week.

Clarification:

StarPOINTS = hotel points
StarOPTIONS = timeshare points

Thanks - I will take a look at that

I copied the link from the Owner Resources sticky - maybe there are 2.

There are two;

You can actually probably just remove "SVN Exchanges: Starwood StarOPTION Chart updated 6/2016" from the "EXCHANGING" section since there is also the separate "STAROPTIONS" section.

Thank you for pointing that out - will fix it! :hi:

tahoeJoe,
If you are already logged into Vistana.com, and you are on the page where you would be booking your reservation, look at the top of the page and click on "StarOptions Chart". That will show you the various resorts and the SOs needed for each day of the week at your desired resort. CJ

Also - when you use the villa finder, it will show you the points required for the dates/unit you request. You can check that any time - you don't have to wait until 8 mos. to just check.

The only issue with this is that you can't check more than 12 months out. However, as easy as Vistana's point system is, using the StarOption chart is pretty simple. The only time it can get a little confusing is if a stay crosses two seasons.

If the OP checks the same DAYS (not dates) for the same season in 2017 - he can find the number of Staroptions using the villa finder.
