Correct. Think of Hyatt Vacation Club as two separate points systems: Platinum and Portfolio.
Guest Services confirmed Platinum points deposit 1:1 into Interval. They also mentioned Interval gives you 2 years from the deposit date to redeem them. I haven't used Interval but I imagine other TUG members have some useful info to share.
- Portfolio points can be used for resorts in the Portfolio Collection, formerly the Heritage Collection (and I think before that it might have been called Hyatt Residence Club but I'm not sure). Highlands Inn is part of that.
- This listing is for Platinum Points which can be used directly to book resorts in the Platinum Collection or Experiences Collection. The first post in this thread lists those resorts, and the points charts for them is attached in this post.
As part of the Hyatt Vacation Ownership network, Owners also receive priority access and a reduced exchange fee when completing an exchange to a Hyatt Residence Club resort through Interval International.
