Ongoing exchange question

Hello! I would like to hopefully be able to add a week to one of our already booked weeks next year, but I would only do it if I could get the right date(so the new week’s check in would be on the day of the previous week’s check out). So for example if I have already booked Sept.1-8, and I want to trade a week I put into interval for check in on September 8. How do I do it enter it into an ongoing search? What do I put for the date? I realize it might not ever become available, but I’d like to try. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Call II to set up a search with a specific check-in date, you can't do it online.

II also have a min requirement for 3 x weeks/resort combination so if your requirement is for just 1 week, you can add a resort to your request that is never likely to come up or for a date that isn't likely to come up. The Disney Vacation Club resorts in Hawaii and California are very unlikely to come up and if you put a date for thanksgiving 2027, it should work as a placeholder to make up the 3 that you need.

It should also be noted that II is sometimes bad for still matching you to any date in the same weekend as the date you actually want. Even when you request a special date. So be sure to watch for II confirmation to make sure they don't match you to something you don't want. Also, by limiting to a specific checkin date, it will limit the likelihood that you will get a match.

Hmmm, so I don’t really understand the 3x thing. I need to have three weeks in a row? I have one booked Friday to Friday, and the next day another week booked for family sat-sat of the same week. Then I just wanted to try to get another Sat- Sat for the second week so we have two weeks in a row for us with another overlapping for family. I have the overlapping weeks booked. I just need the extra week at the end.

Are you trading with a Marriott week? If not, then II requires at least three travel dates or three resorts to setup an ongoing search/pending request. This requirement isn't in place if using a Marriott week to trade into another Marriott or Vistana property.

Then you should be able to call and place the request for the specific resort and date. You may even want to setup the request online first and then call to specify the specific checkin day.
