My husband and I were on a weekend get away this summer and were suckered into a Wyndham time share at plantation resort in Myrtle Beach. Although I do think this was the right choice for our family I wish I had known more about resale’s etc. so here are our questions after finding this forum.

We currently own 84,000 but know we want more. What should we look for if buying resale points? Do they have to be from resort? How is the best way to get more information on a transfer of deeds etc.

What is the difference in levels from Wyndham and how to you get to other levels? When the time share was sold to us they made it sound like we could go anywhere within Wyndham but then we looked into going to Pigion Forge and it says that we aren’t eligible. ‍♀️

Also any insight on these abbreviations I see everywhere... there are too many to remember and I can’t seem to find a place on here where they are explained.

Overall I don’t regret our choice to become timeshare owners but I would like to educate myself more and make better purchases in the future along with making our time share work for us!

Consider renting over buying more developer creditable points. Also, you may want to post your question on the Wyndham Board. You may get better answers.

You can buy any resell points and add to you existing membership. Be aware new contracts may get realigned to your current use year.

Wyndham takes about 120-180 days to complete the process. Find a contract you want CWA or a UDI Points contract that has been converted to Club Wyndham Plus Points. When adding more Wyndham charges a $299 transfer fee per contract.

Great MFs are $4 or less per 1000 points average is around $6 with some being significantly higher.

Points are all points except during ARP. Points can be used to book anything in the club wyndham plus system, however, points can only be used for ARP at Resorts they are deed to or in case of CWA at all those resorts if you have CWA points. But at 10 months out all have same reservation priority any where.

You would need more developer points to become VIP. But in your case since you already have 84K you could make about $12K developer purchase and PIC (2) 3 bedroom units at same time and be a VIP gold. Just search tug many have posted about this. If you do become VIP currently all your resell points will get VIP benefits too. You just can’t use resell to obtain VIP status.
