I was in the second to last villa back in August. Loved it!! So jealous ...
Saw a pair fly over in the late afternoon a couple days in a row back in early May, but they always stayed hidden up in the treetop leaves; could hear them but not see them. Did see another pair close up in a tree near Manuel Antonio. So happy that Eric B got to see them at LS!

I saw 2 pairs of macaw hanging out the trees and also toucans

Still looking for the toucans, but there have been a dozen or so macaws in the trees every morning and several pairs every evening so far.

Edited to add that we found the toucans by the golf course!

One of our favorite buildings! What's your opinion of the refurbishments?
Sorry for the delayed reply. This was our first trip to Shadow Ridge, so I'm unaware of the refurbishments. The fake gas logs were kind of interesting. The unit had excellent fixtures and furniture, and you know about the views and convenience to the golf course. We hope to return one year soon!

All in all, very decent view but hardly as spectacular as the Gulf Front. I probably prefer the Pool High Floor (facing directly west) from the Osprey building, even though you have the two long pools between you and the water (800ft distance to the water according to google maps) .

Personally, would definitely pay the extra cost for Gulf Front. You're facing the water directly only ~350 ft away. Biggest downside is the heat during April and October when the sun is setting in the west, but lots to enjoy before and after. Gulfside and Poolside High Floor decent second choices when factoring in the savings.

Yes, there are three balconies off this 2BR.

View from Room 5117/5118 Maui Marriot Ocean Club. This room is classified as Garden View but at any hotel in Hawaii I am sure it would be a partial ocean VIew. This was a last minute exchange for my studio at Summit Watch. I kind of liked you could see the mountains one way and the ocean the other.
