Marriott - View from the Balcony

Here’s our “view” from our first floor Hale 8 unit assignment this week at Waiohai Beach Club on Kauai. Disappointed in first floor, but can’t complain as this is the first time in four stays we haven’t gotten our high floor request. At least we got our request for an interior courtyard view and didn’t get a parking lot view.

Really surprised at the large number of school aged kids here this week. What happened to going to school?

There's this one....

We moved on from Kauai to Maui today and checked in to our Maui Ocean Club 4th floor Lanai wing 2BR Ocean View unit. Given the inventory issues presented by the plumbing renovation work, I’m pleased with 4th floor although we’ve usually gotten floors 7-9 with our owned week.

We did get a renovated unit. Will post some pics in a new thread.

Here is our view.

Starting our third and final week in Hawaii. This week is our first time staying at Marriott’s Waikoloa Ocean Club. On previous trips we stayed on the Big Island using our Hilton ownership.

We are in a 1BR Ocean View. This is a very nice hotel conversion. You can tell they learned from the Maui Ocean Club project and others. Room is much better laid out than Maui and includes a washer/dryer in the kitchenette area.

Here is our view from our fifth floor unit:

To the OP. What is that building in the center of the photos?

It’s a two story standalone building that seems to be additional Marriott rooms/units. We have the same question and intend to ask someone while we are here.

When you say "Marriott rooms", do you mean vacation club units or hotel units? I understand this is a shared hotel/timeshare property?

Not sure. It could be either. But it is rooms of some kind - either the traditional hotel units or MVC. We plan to ask when we get a chance. It’s intriguing me too.

Room 5105? I had this view. One of the best 1bd OV units.

The small building in the foreground contains suites that are part of the hotel portion of the property.

Ko Olina unit 20326 in the Moana building. This was an II trade, coded oceanview. It is noted as 3rd floor, but on the ocean side, it is actually the second floor. You could see the ocean through the trees if you looked hard enough.😄 I asked for the quietest room, on the highest floor. We felt like this was a good placement as an exchanger, and had no complaints at all.

If you like plane spotting (which we do) this was a fabulous location!

Close. 5101. Reminds me I should have noted the floor in my post. Will edit to include.

Thanks for the info on the smaller building.

I did confirm today that the small building in my balcony view photo is made up of hotel rooms or suites that are larger than the regular hotel rooms. It was originally part of an older hotel on this property and was renovated by Marriott.

Spending the week in a 1BR Ocean Front at Marriott's Maui Ocean Club, Napili Tower. We are on the Fifth Floor, so lots of palm trees obstructing our view (or are the palm trees just part of the view?), but lots of whales visible between the palms. Yesterday, one whale did full breaches no less than a dozen times within 5 minutes. Really enjoying the show with our excellent binoculars!

I like to think the palm trees are part of the view! We have no palm trees where we live! 😊 Have a fantastic time!
