Yes we have twice. Good prices older cars. We call it rent a wreck.
If you plan on taking the Jeep to the other side of the island it is the best option in our opinion. Old and beat up is better than shiny and new when you plan on Mr. Toads wild ride in the sand dunes. We had a blast. Driving skills required and match my DH’s skill set.

I plan on visiting beaches that have clear water for some sort of snorkeling and relaxation. Don’t need to off road much I guess

Be sure to check out Baby Beach then. Aruba snorkeling in not impressive in our book but still enjoyable. Baby Beach is a good 45 minute drive from the Marriott.

Not sure you’ll be happy with Royal if you don’t plan to off road or aren’t looking based solely on price.

I was able to get Alamo mid size for 225 for the week. I remember the snorkeling isn’t the best, truthfully, I’ve been to Aruba once 15 years Ago and was not a fan. There must be something wrong when going to Aruba is a “last resort”. If USVI were still open I’d be there! As long as I’m not at home for the week that’s all that matters.

We've rented from Tropic every trip and had a great experience. Interesting as we much prefer Aruba over the VI.

I can’t say I prefer VI over Aruba since I’ve yet to visit WSJ. I’m hoping the water by the resort isn’t so cloudy. That truly ruins it for me. If I have to leave the resort for clear water beaches, it kind of defeats the purpose of going so far. The constant “breeze” also is a bit much. Last time I laid on the beach I felt like I was getting sand blasted the whole time. I’m just happy to get away so I’m giving it another shot! Hoping this time around I fall in love with it.

They have a two bedroom portion of the three bedroom which is only ocean side category. Otherwise I believe all the two bedrooms are lock off’s.

SC has 4 view types OF, OS, OV & GV in order. OF & OS will be Lighthouse Tower, OV & GV will be either Compass or Spyglass tower (further back). 3 BR are only OV in the Compass Building I believe. SC is pretty hard line in giving you what you have reserved either directly or by exchange and the last 3 years or so MVC in general has been much more hard line that in the past to the point that at some resorts you'd be forced to move rooms though with Covid that'd be less likely. You can make a request directly with the resort or through MVC, I'd do it with the resort. Historically I've gotten a plan it now email and responded then we went from there with some limited back and forth, but this year those have been different so you may want to call (they are on Atlantic Time if it matters). What do you have reserved specifically?, you should be able to figure it out fairly easily. If it's a direct reservation you'll have a specific type of unit reserved, if it's an II exchange, there was specific unit type deposited and you should be able to figure that out from the code in your II history. Odds are dramatically high you have a lockoff given the numbers and if so it'll be a King in the second with a sofa bed rather than 2 full sized beds in the second. It's also likely you have a GV or OV but I've had OS & OF as exchanges in the past.

One is a AC and the other is a getaway. The second bedroom said queen bed and queen sleeper sofa
