Making a View Request as Resale

… and hijacked your post into "Making a view request as a VIP."

A Reasonable Time fence is a solution! A VIP who does not make a reservation within a Time-fence is a NON-VIP as far the system is concerned!
There's already a time-fence called Forfeiture Window. So, a VIP who makes a reservation within the forfeiture window is a pleb no matter his patrician status!;)

Cancel/Rebook conundrum could have been dealt with in a more sophisticated way instead of taking the ball away from everybody because a few kids misbehaved! So amateurish!

Exactly. All owner requests should be noted and honored if possible. Of course VIP owners should have priority over those of us that only have a few 100K pts.
No I guess that's why it's going to be privileges. You could have five million you get no soup! Nada nicht zip zillch never. Not in God's lifetime.

The problem "WAS" I hope that there was no communications or notation per a VIP of special request for a certain room. Fixed?

I am a VIPP and I see where you're coming from. But a resale owner could have booked the room with a view online if it was available. He is only asking to be on a waitlist and stand behind the VIPs. If a room is vacant on the day of check-in, I don't see how Wyndham loses by fiving it anyone who asks for it! They might actually be induced to buy developer points and join the VIP ranks. Just my naive opinion!
Why? They didn't pay for it. Even resale pays maintenance fees.

It's in the best interest of any hospitality business to maximize the utilization of their 'perishable' product. It's in the best interest of Wyndham and the TS owners to increase occupancy rates purely from the standpoint of getting the maximum bang out of MF fees and reducing the liability of outstanding points. If you leave rooms (SUPPLY) vacant and increase the liability of outstanding points (DEMAND), you are simply pushing demand into the future creating a demand crunch.
I know there are many variables involved here and there must be some kind of Operations Research model that's utilized in this business. When I was at Hilton IT for a period of time, I remember the demand forecasting team had all kinds of models. It's a tough business when you look at it from their side.
No no no. The lower the demand as you call it the lower the cost. No wear and tear it housekeeping. If everyone paid their fees and no one showed up every day it would have the lowest fees.

Non-VIP's should have requests honored after 4pm on the day of check-in. Not before. Advance requests are a VIP benefit. VIP's who want upgrades should either make the request with the booking, call the resort with the request, or show up for the early VIP check in time. At 4pm, all reservations are equal.
No you would still have the luck of the draw. Why don't you realize that it is Wyndham's club you joined. And with in the parameters of the club, Wyndham limits your benefits? Resale owners are second class, general boarding, cabin seating, nose bleed section unless you buy from Wyndham. You will never be equal. Never ever ever

If a non VIP rents 6 months out and there is no availability for a VIP a day or 2 before check in I would believe the VIP is SOL and should have booked earlier.
That's not how it works. A VIP cannot demand a view. I can demand a room. After that everyone else get the luck of the draw. Even the VIP. If a person at the front desk gives you an ocean front that's on them not Wyndham. That's why it matters they fix this.

Honor requests of VIPG/VIPP and VIP-PR up unitl 4pm on the day of check-in. After 4pm, honor all requests in the order that they are received (at the desk). PERIOD. Easy system to manage and fair to the group that has the benefit of making requests.
So are you proposing that anyone that is non VIP requesting a certain room or view will not be able to checkin before 4 or earlier if room is available?

VIP is not monolithic. Should VIPP be able to demand better treatment than the 'lower caste' VIPG? ;) Should VIPP requests be honored before that of a VIPG? There's no end to this. A line has to be drawn somewhere!
That's in writing. Discount window and the discount per level etc. Just as it should be. You pay for your thrills.

Cancel and rebook was never a benefit to take away. It was a loophole.

And many VIP owners took what Wyndham was selling as a benefit and used it to their advantage. . Some here may say they gamed the system but I feel it was all within Wyndham rules and is no different then the way I use the system to my advantage. Even if its a $20 tip at check in for filling a request of a certain room.

I disagree with this statement. At 13 months all can book if its available VIP or resale. The only advantage I see with VIP is the 50% discount window bookings if there is availability. The advantage for a VIP that isn't using the 50% discount is very little over a resale owner if you factor in the sunk cost.
