If you want to be pedantic, there are actually three similar but different points system in Vistana/Westin:
Westin Flex
Westin Aventuras
Vistana Signature Network

Actually, there's now a fourth, which is Abound, but that's shared by Marriott.

Yeah, Sheraton Flex was called out separately. Thus the other two should be as well. I think the line for Vistana / Westin / Sheraton can be deleted.

are those bought/sold/etc enough to warrant a distinction from the others?

im all for adding new ones, as its not a difficult process...but is splitting all these up actually detrimental to sellers vs combining them under a single banner for potential buyers to view when searching for "vistana points" or similar?

also, can you buy/sell/rent abound points at the current time? Ive not seen any indication of that yet, but im known to be wrong!

I think they are distinct enough to warrant separation. Westin Aventuras is just Mexico. Sheraton Flex has almost $0 resale value and Westin Flex may still carry some value. They all have access to a different set of resorts.

If you list them just as Vistana points, most people wont' know what that is. People know that they bought Sheraton Flex or Westin Flex. THe three you should have are;

Westin Flex
Sheraton Flex
Westin Aventuras

"Vistana Signature Experiences" can also include weeks at actual resorts, so I wouldn't list that. Each resort would be listed.

these are just entries for folks who would be selecting "points" as an ad type.

fixed/floating weeks go on about their own business when posting those.

just trying to create an all inclusive option for owners to select a correct point system for those selling/renting points.

You can take the word "Points" off of the Worldmark entry. There is no other option.

To make things confusing, Hyatt Residence Club is being renamed to Hyatt Vacation Club, but it still won't be the same currency as the Hyatt Vacation Club - Welk.

You have left out the company that invented both timesharing and points, Swiss-based Hapimag. The very first timesharing was Hapimag's points system. The idea of fixed weeks came later, also pioneered in Europe. When timesharing came to the US, it started as a fixed week system as that was what had become more popular in Europe.

In Hapimag, the member buys shares of stock which have usage points attached to them. Hapimag has had a couple of US resorts (but may have sold them), but most of them have been in Europe, and for cities, Hapimag has a much better array of resorts based in European cities.

Hapimag is the only points system I have ever considered buying in.

My Worldmark friends will flip if you refer to them as points. They are Credits ;)

If the primary goal is to have a page for resales or rentals then yes I think it's totally fine to put Sheraton Flex, Westin Flex, and Westin Aventuras on the same page. Yes they're different products but so are Wyndham points at different home resorts.

You could even take it a step further and make the page Marriot / Sheraton / Westin. I'll probably get some hate for saying so but I think within 5 years people will come to view them as "slightly different point trusts under one umbrella (Abound)"

im ok with splitting them up.

for clarification, these names are exactly what will be provided to members posting classifieds when choosing "points" listings.

the goal is simply to make things easier, there was alot of bad data that we eliminated and we are starting from scratch so to have it as "correct" as possible from the beginning will help!

the real fun part comes in linking the individual resorts to their respective point programs so folks can link home resorts/etc!

For the most part MROP is a RTU weeks based 'membership'. The exception is former Resorts West owners, who have a 3 tier points system (which I believe is still only redeemable as weeks) ... and like a lot of resorts/systems there are some weeks that have been sold or converted to RCI points or II points. Lot of variants in such a small system!

I see you have "Interval International (II) Points" listed, what exactly is that? I know II had their Club Interval Gold program, but with that I think you own a week somewhere that can be traded in II as points. You don't really own points, you own a week at some resort. The same is actually true for Club Wyndham and RCI Points. You don't really own points and if this is for buying/selling and rental listings, I don't think someone would list something as Club Wyndham. Instead they would pick the actual resort they are buying, selling or renting.

Edited: The same is actually true for at least one other;
Hilton Grand Vacation Club

folks post wyndham and hilton points for sale/rent all the time? perhaps i misread what you are saying?

are numerous wyndham points listings:

couldnt tell you on the II one, ive never seen a listing posted for that...but it was clearly added as a point program at one time! happy to remove it!

This is an interesting list. I see you've listed RCI, and rightly so. But, a couple of the more sought after resorts are part of Vacation Village because of the points allotted in RCI (in particular Grandview and The Colonies). So, while Vacation Village is not technically a points system, like HVC or Wyndham, they are seen that way because of RCI.

I must confess that this does confuse me. Why don't they just leave it "Hyatt Residence Club"? Or is it the font that's being changed?

The list includes II, RCI, and Registry Collection points, which are really external exchange systems that weeks can be enrolled in rather than closed internal systems. There are a few others out there that could be added - ThirdHome and Elite Alliance come to mind and both operate on a points type of system where what you exchange with them is valued in some form of currency (for ThirdHome it's "keys").

In Club Wyndham there is also Club Wyndham South Pacific, which is a separate program from Club Wyndham Plus and WorldMark.

For the listings, Club Wyndham Access, Sheraton Flex, Westin Flex, and Westin Aventuras are types of points in the overall programs they are associated with that represent trust ownership of multiple resorts in the programs. If you want to be exhaustive, there are also Club Wyndham Prefer Hawaii and Club Wyndham Prefer West points, which represent the old Shell Vacation Club points that have been converted to Club Wyndham Plus. To confuse things a bit, Margaritaville Vacation Club points and Presidential Reserve points within Club Wyndham Plus have a different group of resorts they can be used with as well as the Club Wyndham Plus resorts. I would probably go the other way and list the trust ownerships within major point systems separately.

I periodically get emails from Equity Residences, which I believe is another points system. They call themselves fractionals rather than timeshares, I believe.

Universal Vacation Club and the Villa Group are somehow related and associated with the Tafer Residences, which isn't listed.

You may want to add The Club by Hilton, Hilton Vacation Club and Hilton MAX separately - although under the HGVC umbrella, there are certain benefits that are different in each one. If you are just looking for the parent company then you're fine. I suggest this as you separated out the Westin system and the Hyatt system.

Royal Aloha Vacation Club can be removed; its been totally absorbed into Vacation Internationale (VI), the transaction completed about 2 years ago; so no more TUG ads for sale/rental/etc will show Royal Aloha (RAVC)
