I got Bonvoyed - Check your status!

Yes, but I had just the opposite occur. I was upgraded to Ambassador lifetime status. Hope you get it fixed.

um, there is no such thing as lifetime Ambassador status in Marriott Bonvoy...

They could be referring to updating your Bonvoy number in your Vistana account. When SPG migrated over to Bonvoy, despite doing all the alignment required in the SPG and Bonvoy systems, Vistana's system didn't quite pick up the correct information. For about 6 months, despite seeing a Bonvoy number in my Vistana account online, none of my Vistana stays would post (or show up in my Bonvoy "Trips" list). I called Vistana, asked them to delete the number in the system and re-enter my Bonvoy number. Ever since all stays post with credit and all upcoming reservations show up in "My Trips" on my Bonvoy profile.

As to getting credit retroactively, yes, this is a total PITA as post-stay these trips show as a promotional rate, which technically doesn't qualify for Bonvoy credit. Takes a LOT of effort to get someone to understand this was a timeshare stay, timeshare stays are indeed eligible and to then get them to manually post the credit.

I have an upcoming stay at WLR at the end of December that will complete before year end and this will give me the 75 nights for Titanium status. I expect to have to dig in for a lengthy battle to get nights posted and status granted. I can just see it now, Bonvoy requiring a wait of 10 days after checkout into January before they would be will be willing to look into it. Are there any proactive tips to get it to post timely after checkout?

Call WLR now and ask them to add your Marriott Bonvoy number to the reservation. If they see one already there, ask them to delete it an re-enter. If they claim they are unable to do this, call back closer to check-in (maybe a week before) and try again. If they've done this correctly, your reservation should show up within 24 hours in your Bonvoy "My Trips" section. Any time a trip has appeared there I have always gotten credit.

To be safe, when you check in, again, verify if your Bonvoy number is in the reservation. When you check out, check for a third time! This successfully worked for me most times until I figured out the issue was the way my Bonvoy number migrated into the Vistana system and had it replaced as I mentioned above.

Is your stay home resort or II exchange? I don't know if that will matter much. Double check with them at checkin that they have your Bonvoy number on the reservation. You may also get emails a few weeks in advance regarding your stay. Check the very bottom of those emails to see if they refer to the actual Marriott Confirmation number which is an eight digit number that usually begins with 7, 8 or 9. If you have that, you can try calling Bonvoy to see if they will add the number ahead of time.

What I have found is that Vistana doesn't use the proprietary reservation system that Marriott International has for its backend systems which is tied into Bonvoy. Marriott Vacation Club does. I have asked multiple times at checkin at SVV if my Bonvoy number is on the reservation and they say yes, but I always fail to be given credit. I think this is because they are looking at my ownership record because they are also trying to sign me up for a presentation. It might be a little different because at SVV the people that check owners in are the VIP desk, which is marketing. In WLR, they have a separate concierge desk which is part of marketing.

My WLR timeshare home resort reservation currently shows in my Marriott Bonvoy app. It has in the past prior to check in and upon completion of the stay it did not post. I have had to initiate a long fight to credit stay and it eventually did. If the same happens again it will be January and I’ll have to fight to even get the status that will be due given nights completed prior to the end of the year.
