Thank you so much for the correction, too, DeniseM….I think you have alerted me to someone not being quite truthful. Thanks again to Dioxide45 for helping me with my error, too!I think you mean Redweek: DIY costs $30 + a yearly membership fee. (Interval is an exchange Co.)
Thank you, I did mean Redweek!Interval? As in Interval International? They don't have ad listings. They sell/rent inventory that they control. Are you referring to Redweek.com?
Wow, okay…that is good to know…I’m not seeing $400.Here is the page showing prices:
Rent My The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas Timeshare | RedWeek
Post your The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas timeshare for rent on RedWeek.com, the largest online marketplace for renting, buying, and selling timeshares.www.redweek.com
I just want to thank all of you, as I will NOT rent from this person, and also because earlier this year, I was looking at renting a different timeshare though redweek, and because of you all’s help, I was able to verify that a rental I was interested in renting was in fact, an exchange the renter was trying to rent which is against Interval International’s rules.Wow, okay…that is good to know…I’m not seeing $400.
If you go through redweek and use Redweek payments, then yes the renter will be charged approx 8% additional service fee as well as Hawaii taxes. So depending on the rental price and the tax % that could easily be $400.Well, they are a Redweek “new member”, which to me is a red flag, but I thought I would inquire…it was through Redweek , just a regular listing, not verified or where you have to go through their service(I have done that before). So I got this as part of his response,
“if you book thru Redweek they charge another ~$400 “service fee” that going with me direct avoids” then he talks about how he is almost out $1000 already, (but I know what maintenance fees are, and there is no way he is out $1000). He would be more like making thousands more, which I get…who wouldn’t want to make money renting their week, but I don’t like it if he is lying to me about his charges through Redweek, as it raises a red flag. Which would be red flag number two!
i just thought to myself, there is no way redweek costs $400 to list a basic ad. so I wanted to verify it here.
So, is there an extra “$400 service fee” that redweek charges someone who rents a basic ad through them after it all gets processed?
It’s weird to me he mentions going through him directly to avoid that fee. Uggg…maybe I am just overly cautious.
Anyway,
Thank you very much!
Redweek also has "protected", meaning they collect and hold payment until after the renter checks in. If you pay directly through Redweek, that is what this is. This is an additional service charge paid to Redweek and charged to the renter.Okay, but what is Redweek payment? This is not for Hawaii. I would think the Redweek payment would be for the owner, unless it was the verified listing, which then the renter pays, but the owner made it sound like he was paying all of the extra fees, which wasn’t reflected in the price.
Sorry, I thought it was Hawaii. Which resort and what is the rental amount if you don't mind, Redweek payments allows you to pay with credit card with some protections. Certain jurisdictions require the collection of taxesOkay, but what is Redweek payment? This is not for Hawaii. I would think the Redweek payment would be for the owner, unless it was the verified listing, which then the renter pays, but the owner made it sound like he was paying all of the extra fees, which wasn’t reflected in the price.
I don't think that we know that it's a II exchange.I asked….he said it’s his week, not an exchange.
I agree. Thanks for your help.If the owner is trying to charge additional fees on top of the rental price and they aren't disclosed in the ad, then something doesn't seem right.
Never mind, I went back to read, it was for a different ad.I don't think that we know that it's a II exchange.
