Hilton does not have their own "Internal Resales".
a.) To be clear if they take a unit back or have one in their inventory that is simply a 'sale'.
If you are talking about Hilton selling it 'for you', they do not do that, they are not allowed due to 'a' above.
What they will do if you ask them to help you sell it walk you through a process that ends up with Judi K and others who will be responsible for listing your unit and trying to sell it for you.
When working with Hilton, they will ultimately help you to end up here at this site, any Broker listed here selling a unit is directly working with Hilton but they do not work for Hilton:

Last I checked there were 1780 listings, some a cheap as 0 dollars, some crazy expensive; seller sets the price not Hilton (that would be illegal).
Now regarding the Surrender ( do not call it Deed Back ) I am hearing there is now a formula that is essentially double the maintenance and it is not absolute; they 'may' take your unit from you, they may not.
I was lucky enough that my process was free BUT take a look at those 1780 listings now.
See how CHEAP some are and ask yourself how or why would you pick MLS unit A for $100 over MLS unit B for $100 in the same resort?
Point being even at those cheap prices you have to be lucky.
Tell the Brokers you want 7680 points for less that X dollars they have MANY. Hilton has no say in 'which' unit they push.
So last point being, if you need out of your property and if Hilton wants 2x maintenance to take a unit from you; I would give them the money.
