HGVC's Deed Back Process

Here is a quick update on where I am in the process. Thank you brial05 and TUGBrian for the information. Before I could even follow your suggestion, we got a call from Loss Mitigation. They told me there were only three scenarios I could follow:

1. Dead Back - This is only possible when you first buy a contract. Usually within 3-7 days. We have had the property for over 20 years.
2. Resell - We had no interest in this based on the information we learned from this site.
3. Voluntary Surender - We chose this. We are elderly, no longer traveling, we do not want to pass on to heirs, our loan is paid off, and we are up to date on dues. They sent the paperwork that TUGBrian mentioned, and we completed as he suggested. We completed a package for each week we owned. This was done 12/30. They told me it would take a couple of weeks to hear back. I was not given a case ID. With it being the new year, I suspect we will have to pay this year's dues. I am hoping we don't.

I will update again.
Hi, we are trying to exit Hilton Grand vacation as well, what number did you call or email did you use? The Voluntary Surender sound so good! When I called them almost 2 years ago they said they do do voluntary Surender and my only option is the resell, which I have been in the system for about 2 years and not update. thank you for all your help.

Have you tried posting in Free TS give away forum?

I have sent an email over to the Transitions Team and I got back the following:
Thank you for submitting your HGV Transitions Resale Inquiry Form for contract xx-xxxxx. After reviewing your contract, we’re offering to list your vacation ownership for sale on the resale market. Before selling your vacation ownership through the HGV Transitions program, we encourage you to consider all options available to you. Please visit our HGV Transitions page for information, resources and support.
I have listed mine on Facebook and and I found a buyer so we are good at the moment!

Two things, don't show your contract number on these public boards and before you do that with them, work directly through a broker and/or put in the TUG marketplace.

I would remove the above post and black out your contract

Thanks for that @GT75. Thanks Moderator for doing that. Lesson Learned.

I am a bit confused about this process with Hilton, and what I was told last week. I contacted the Transition program that they say will facilitate a relinquish of property/points. The information I was given was -
1. I can complete an application for this program and it will be put in the que to be processed.
2. It is a first come, first serve process.
3. The Transition program is currently on pause and they do not know when it will reopen. After asking she shared that it had been paused for about a year currently.
4. They “say” they don’t know when it will be opened again, but when it is - first come , first served
5. There is a fee for relinquishing your property/points. I own 56,000 points and my fee for them to take it back is $9600.

All I can do is share what they told me and compare it to what others have heard.
