Has anyone actually successfully sold a Holiday inn vacation club timeshare?
We were talked into purchasing a different time share through Palmera Vacations and they are supposed to have our holiday inn one sold. However now we are finding all this bad stuff about Palmera online. Is there any chance that our Holiday inn one will actually sell??
We are terrified of having 2 timeshares because we cannot afford 2 of them.

Also in a deed back are you out all of the money? Will holiday inn Buy back?

Is there any way out of this that doesn’t end in us loosing all of our money?

We are thinking of using a lawyer to try to get out of the time share with Palmera. Don’t know if it is even possible.
Is there anyone that is very knowledgeable and help give me the best advice?

Very few timeshares have any resale value - unfortunately yours does not.

The deals in Mexico where you trade in your timeshare and buy a new one are almost always a scam, and they never had any intention of selling your timeshare - that was just a ploy to get you to buy.

There are no legitimate "lawyers" that can get you out of your timeshare contract. You have a legally binding, signed contract. Most of the timeshare rescue companies are just scammers - not lawyers at all.

You should seriously look into the deedback option - it's your best bet.

How long ago did they promise to buy your Holiday Inn deed?

sadly no...

the only option you really have to retain any value in your ownership is to learn how to best use it to vacation. that is really the only value at all in many timeshares. (not just Holiday Inn)

we would absolutely suggest doing your best to cancel/rescind the palmera purchase...you likely paid far too much for that as well and are clearly still stuck with your HICV timeshare that you could give back to holiday inn without the obligation to buy into palmera.

these trade in schemes are AWFUL deals for owners.

We are trying to find out if there is anyway to cancel with Palmara. They were sneaky in their promises and everything. We are talking with a legit lawyer that is local to us and we are hoping they can somehow help us get out of it. I know chances are slim. But praying for our sake that we can somehow do it

if its within the rescission period in the sales contract, simply follow the directions in the sales contract to rescind (heck we'd suggest trying even if you are out of that period, doesnt hurt to try either way).

You can cancel Palmara if you are within the rescission period. How long ago did you buy?
HICV has a take back not a buy back. They pay you nothing and will accept a paid off timeshare.

With a deedback, you at least no longer have to pay the annual maintenance fees associated with ownership. When your timeshare is worthless, this big win for people trapped paying annual fees for something they can't use and can't get rid of.

Hopefully, you can rescind your Palmera purchase and then deedback the Holiday Inn timeshare. Then you won't have future fees to pay.

I apparently stand corrected, thinking that Palmera is an offshore TS company. Other points that other than major, high end hotel branded TS companies are the only TSs that hold even a decent fraction of their value still hold.

I wish the OP well and hope they can find a way to unload these without financial damage.

Good Luck

Jim

Palmera is a hilton head points timeshare. They were called Coral resorts- same management company (Reba management) but they renamed themselves Palmera and created their own quasi RCI points vacation club. They have a 20 plus year history of the hard sell with the promise to sell your current timeshare. They use both the we are discounting today's timeshare by $20,000 based on the value of your current timeshare and the we are discounting today's timeshare $15,000 and we expect that you will get a check for $10,000 which you can put toward the rest of the principal on todays timeshare when the 3rd party sells your timeshare in the next couple months. Owners have won a number of lawsuits against them but there have been a number of lawsuits that owners lose. Word has been both Spinnaker and Palmera have a lot of government people in their pockets through their lobbing and campaign donations.

HIVC doesn’t buy back they take it back no cost, no payment but you are out of your obligation to pay Maintenence fees.
