Happy Aloha Friday

Happy Aloha Friday!!!! It's been a windy summer so far. There are a few covers that were blown off the cars that are stored for the season in the parking lot here. It has kept us cool so far this summer though.

This week's picture takes us over to Maui and Kihei at the Maui Schooner. This show's the park in front of ocean from the lanai of the A building. Maui Schooner has always been one of our favorites.

Happy Aloha Friday from the Mississippi River, aboard American Cruise Lines’ American Serenade! We’re approaching our last port of call, Alton, IL. This afternoon we’ll visit the site at the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi where Lewis & Clark started their Voyage of Discovery. Sunset near New Boston, IL was lovely last night!

Happy Aloha Friday from Canmore, Alberta. We arrived last Monday and are here for 2 weeks. We spent the previous week in Vancouver, BC. Last Sunday I started coming down sick. We discussed giving up on Canmore and going home to Salem , Oregon. I was feeling better on Monday and so we headed to Canmore. Patti came down sick on the 12 Hour drive to Canmore. By the time we got to Canmore she was so weak I checked in and helped her to the Room. She went to bed and I unload the Truck. Today I feel well and Patti is much better. She spent the first 48 hours in bed. Luckily I had Booked a 2 bedroom Condo. But we are in Canmore.

Can you share with us your experiences on aboard the American Cruise Lines. How was the food and the cabin experiences?
This was an interior river cruise.

Didn't get out much except to go from the hotel to an event in another hotel; however, it was so hot the locals were complaining.

There was a good turnout for the conference; don't know the turnout for the city...
 
Happy Aloha Friday from Reno! We are at our home in Reno for a couple of weeks. We drove up yesterday through the Sierras and stopped to stretch our legs at Caples Lake at 8,000 feet. We are enjoying sitting on the patio this morning where it is 75º and much cooler than Northern CA!

It is not hot in Vegas. LOL. That is a local comment. LOL
Vegas has low humidity. Right! Any temperature over 95 degrees is Hot. IMHO. LOL:cool:

This week's picture keeps us here on Molokai and over to Molokai General Hospital. It's the view from my room. It's the best I could do on short notice. Lol

Happy Aloha Friday from Canmore, Alberta. We only have 2 days left on our 2 week stay. We are finally getting better. Wednesday we spent exploring Lakes Moraine and Louise. They are even more beautiful than the stories say. Their colour is just amazing. Yesterday we drove the Spray Lake Valley/Kananaskis. Stopping many places to walk/hike. We had a picnic Lunch on the Bank of one of the many Lakes. We also drove on Hwy 40 to the Point of the Highest Elevation (7239 Feet) on a Canadian Highway. They actually close a large section of the Highway from December 1 - June 15 of every year. Driving in the Canadian Rockies is just amazing. Every view is just beautiful. We have also spent several days just exploring Canmore. Last night we had a Steak Dinner in Town. It was one of the best Steaks we have had in a long time. Great flavor and tender. Even the salad and vegetables were amazing. One Sunday we drive back to Vancouver for a 4 day stay. It is just too far from Salem to Canmore to drive in 1 day. The Worldmark in Vancouver is in the CBD just across the street from the Wall Center.

I do think if you have to be in the hospital, one with ocean views is the best in a bad situation. What a beautiful horizon you had to view! Happy aloha Friday!
 
Happy Aloha Friday. Had a great week which was preceded by a phenomenal weekend as the Blue Angels were in town. We watched from the Bay on Saturday and from our rooftop on Sunday. Below is a pic from Saturday; not a bad view at all! I'll likely share another pic or 2 in the coming weeks.

Happy Aloha Friday: We are still in Reno for a few more days. Yesterday, we spent the day at Galena Creek Park which is up on Mt. Rose. The Mt. Rose highway goes from Reno over to North Shore Lake Tahoe. With an elevation of about 9,000 feet, it's one of the highest highways around here - it's well-known for it's ski resort at the top. We took a picnic lunch & did some hiking. It's one of our favorite places up here.

JEFF - So sorry to hear that you are under the weather! I didn't know that Molokai even had a hospital - glad you didn't have to go over to Oahu.
