Happy Aloha Friday

"It's like déjà vu all over again."

BTW, Yogi Berra told the New York Times language columnist William Safire in 1987 that he never said this, but later in life he was known to take credit for the quotation.

Quote Investigator found the line — not tied to Berra — in newspapers as far back as the 1960s.

The first time The Times attributed the phrase to Berra was in 1985 in an editorial on the scandal over the French sinking of the Rainbow Warrior.

Berra supposedly said this as he reacted to back-to-back home runs by his teammates Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris. “Makes perfect sense to me,” he said decades later.

Happy Aloha Friday!!! Well we made it to May and Mother's Day is right around the corner. We will be enjoying Mother's Day and Kim's Birthday on Kauai this year.🤙🏻

This week's picture takes us over to Maui and to the top of Haleakala. There is nothing like it up there. The whole landscape is totally different and worth the drive up to over 10,000 feet of elevation.

Enjoy and have an Awesome Aloha Friday and a Great Weekend!!!!🤙🏻🌺🌴😎

Happy Aloha Friday, on the First Friday for May ….Today-weather forecast for Coastal Virginia will be in the low eighties.

Wishing everyone a safe and an enjoyable weekend. Aloha

Happy Aloha Friday from Windsor, CA. We have a 2 night stay here before continuing on to Carlsbad, CA. We will be there for 2 weeks. Then one week at Avila Beach. One side effect of growing older is slower driving trips. In our younger days we could go from Salem Or to San Diego CA in 1 day. Stopping just for gas (bathroom breaks and food during gas stop). Stops are now more frequent - need to stretch, switch drivers, more bathroom breaks, etc. Now Salem to Windsor is about all we can handle. In my 30's I drove from Dale City Va to Dallas Or in 3.5 days by myself. A drive of almost 3,000 miles.

Happy Aloha Friday. Our weather is nice and the weeds are now winning. I bought a couple gallons of Round Up so in a week or so I might be caught up with the weeds.

Bill

Well what do you know ? The pictures are loading again. Smith's Union Bar has cold beer, interesting interior and fantastic juke box with classic rock.

Happt Aloha Friday from the First Coast! DW and I just got our umbrella and chairs set up at Vilano Beach. This is currently “my happy place”. We lived just a couple miles up A1A when we first moved to St. Augustine 3 1/2 years ago. This is a beautiful stretch of beach and it is never crowded with tourists like the gulf beaches. We try to come here at least once a week when the weather allows. I just sit and listen to some good yacht rock or smooth jazz, with the sound of the wind and waves in the background, watch the birds, relax.

Wow. I can't seem to get my wife to drive from San Jose to Carlsbad, etc in 1 day. She'd rather fly to S Diego, deal with airports and a rental car and then drive back up to Carlsbad, etc. But then when we loved in Manhattan, she always wanted to take a taxi during rush-hour in midtown, taking 20 minutes to get somewhere we could have walked in < 15 minutes. Some people are just programmed to pay others to do things (that require no expertise) for them that they can do more easily themselves.

Aloha all. THis will be a European summer for us, so we won't be back to Hawaii til Nov at earliest. Sigh, but aloha.

or ride your bike up. It only takes 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 hrs. (or maybe 2-something if you're a Tour de France type ... or I just realized ... Electric Bike)
Just don't ride down unless you bring warm clothes or got a day of great weather

Happy Aloha Friday! Spent the week in San Francisco, and now I'm getting ready to board a flight to head back to paradise. Nice views this week. A couple from this week:

Happy Aloha Friday from the First Coast! Jeff, I hope you get better weather than us. It’s going to be warm and wet here for the next several days with highs in the upper 80’s and rain for the next 5 days. 🌧️☔

Yuck!

Happy Aloha Friday from Coastal Virginia, the home of the Jamestown Settlement in Williamsburg, Virginia. Earlier this morning we had some light rain with lightning flashes. Looks liked a cloudy day with some thunder storms in the evening. Aloha
