Guess where Western States

I believe that not too long ago I put up a picture of a bridge in that vicinity.

Shoshone falls near twin falls, Idaho?

Inverness/Point Reyes?
Point Reyes National Seashore it is. We’ve never been here before and we were very impressed. This is called the Cypress Tree Tunnel. It was quite photogenic.

Point Reyes is known for a few things - their lighthouse, their herd of Tule Elk (you hike right through their pasture on the hike to Tomales Point), and their wind and crazy currents. It was a 60mph wind day on the day that we visited the lighthouse and we had to wait a few days for the wind to die down to hike to Tomales Point (last 2 photos). It’s north of San Francisco and about an hour west of Petaluma and you could probably fly into the Santa Rosa airport and miss the traffic from SFO.

When we lived in Contra Costa County and the kids were small, we occasionally took day trips to coastal Marin County - Point Reyes and Stinson Beach were favorites locales. As they got older, they favored warmer locations.

Later, a good friend and I would meet up for days hikes in the Mt. Tam area, arranging things so that we would arrive at the Pelican Inn early afternoon, ready for a pint.

Very nice pictures.

Another view of Rainier from on top of Adams. The area between Adams and Rainier is called Indian Heaven Wilderness. In the past it was called Land of the Gods or Heavens Land.

Rainier and Adams is correct. Photo taken this morning en route PAE to SAN.

If I had been on the other side of the plane I probably could have done St. Helens and Hood.
We fly into PDX next week and DH insists on sitting on the left side of the plane so he can see Mt. Hood. We usually book aisle seats across from each other but he pleaded that he wanted to sit by the window for photos! However, I did not want the middle so there will be a mystery traveler between us.
Not sure how you could have done both Helens and Hood at once.
