That looks like a coastal rain forest - so I'm going to guess Redwood National Park.

Yeppers. We were camping at Prairie Creek SP (old growth trees) and this tree is walking distance from the campground.

Btw, the Coastal Redwoods are related to the Giant Sequoias. Here's a good explanation Coastal Redwoods vs Giant Sequoias

I know that place!!!! It's the planet where the space ship crew in Galaxy Quest stole a beryllium sphere from the mining colony.

I'm not sure how that qualifies as the Western US though. Maybe, though, if you say it's a Hollywood movie, and since Hollywood is in the western US, by extension the mining planet is part of the western US. Especially since TUG doesn't have a forum for Extra-Terrestrial Resort Regions.

I think so now that you mention it. Hearst Castle or Ranch is a few miles away from the city of San Simeon. So I think you were the first winner !!!

I lost my crab pots somewhere in this area. It was too dangerous to retrieve them that afternoon and the next morning they were gone. Cape Disappointment.
