First, I fully subscribe to the TUG mantra: "How can you tell when a retail timeshare salesperson is lying? When his/her lips are moving."

That said, I was in a Hyatt owner's update a couple of months ago and the topic turned to exchanges. The sales weasel said that because HRC is now owned by the parent company of Interval International, Hyatt exchanges receive priority in the II system. I don't have any personal experience with this, as I've always been happy to use my Hyatt weeks, but wondered if anyone has experience--good or bad--with the quality of exchanges they've received after depositing Hyatt weeks or points, and if your experience in any way validates the sales weasel's contention that HRC has some kind of priority in II.

Hyatt doesn't even get to exchange in to other Hyatt properties in II. I guess though that this is like Marriott's new points program. Want to stay in network, you have to use their in network exchange procedure.

I heard a similar story at Dawn Beach Club in St-Maarten. The salesman said that II has a kind of hidden VIP resorts where those resorts have a couple of days priority view over others to exchange at any II resorts like Platinum members have some priority view on some Getaways. This is not the same has the 3 weeks Marriott's to Marriott's or VSE to VSE priority view.
I don't know if it true or not but most of the time salesmen lies.
So, until somebody from here has a proof of this, this VIP priority view doesn't exist.

I do know a few years ago someone reported that they were able to get a decent Marriott exchange using a non branded premier resort where there Marriott week couldn't access the Marriott exchange. It was thought that perhaps II holds some premium inventory back for those premium resort owners. Not sure how true any of it is.
