and now for a unsuccessful story... my friend was trying to give his RCI points (Island Links HHI) away.. with no success , but did get couple inquiries , think he is going to use a termination company, anyone heard of "Resort termination Group LLC" ??

Is your friend in a hurry? I would wait and see if he gets an offer since he has had a few inquiries.
Don’t pay someone to sell your timeshare, they usually take a long time and you get 0 results and pay too much money to them.

Paying the next years MFs and giving away free usage is another option. Probably still cheaper than a "termination" company.

RCI points ownerships are regularly given away on the resale market if they are truly "free"

actually he has done this, next year is covered and he also giving that away with the TS.. all for free all on this web site.. he originally figured that would be a good deal for anyone and they would pick up any RCI fee, or deed fee, however I am sure he would rather now pay a fee than have to deal with a Termination company. Great guy, but can no longer use, and payed $26K .. we know it is not worth much , but for someone who would use it , its a great bargain. I have often seen and experienced that people perceive that something is worth what the sale price is.. ie , if you offer for free they perceive that it is worth nothing.. Thanks

I have given away many timeshare here right on tug. Never had to list anywhere else. I always list them in both the Bargain section and the Marketplace.

We have given away an 80K RVC to a friend for the transfer costs - about $450. We got a 2,500 Points DRI Hawaiian Collection for zero dollars. Which became part of our regular Account when we upgraded in DRI.

the link you provided goes to an ad that is specifically asking the buyer to pay closing costs...

with at least half a dozen other ads for freebie giveaways at this same resort, he is certainly not going to get any interest in his ad when everyone else is offering the same thing for a cheaper price (ie no closing costs)

I should have posted this earlier but as they say, life got in the way.

Last year we traded into a week at HGVC’s new property on Hilton Head and decided we wanted to grab an annual week at a comparable location. I received a 2b/2b Southwind by Spinnaker on Hilton Head at the end of last year from a fellow Tugger. The deed was free but I paid transfer and the mandatory Spinnaker $1500 prepayment of maintenance fees.

We used the unit for the first time this spring and will be enjoying that same week every year. Another goal met by TUG!

Gave away Ocean Landings Resort And Racquet Club studio unit. Also, a Vacation Village Parkway Village RCI enrolled 2bdr unit.

This year, I picked up a 4Bd lockoff EOY at Williamsburg Plantation and 1BD EOY at SVV for minimal investment overall. I was able to rent my sister the SVV week and use small part of the lockoff for a week at Marriot Pulse Boston. Love TUG, for our vacations and for my extended family.

This week I received confirmation that a gifted 2br Vacation Village @ Weston has completed. This was gifted by a fellow Tugger. I had been looking for a good property in this area for some time and Weston looked to be a good trader as well.

I had also been looking for a 3br on Hilton Head as both of our kids (they have families as well) have stated they want to join us each year after we had such a great time the last 2 years there. Another Tugger was giving away their 3br @ Egret Point (Spinnaker Resorts) and this was perfect for us. This one should be complete in the next couple of weeks as Spinnaker has signed off and the deed is now being registered.
