I predict Billy Napier, Florida, will be the first head coach fired...
A golden parachute of $25mil - $28mil will soften his landing.

From USA Today --
Billy Napier era at Florida nears end with boosters ready to pay buyout
-- Matt Hayes, USA TODAY

A group of Florida boosters have pulled together money to cover the expense of firing coach Billy Napier, two people with direct knowledge of the situation told USA TODAY Sports. The two spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the process, which will begin when interim Florida president Kent Fuchs makes an official decision. The only variable is when.

Only $26M. Jimbo Fisher got $76M from Texas A&M last year. I don’t know how Napier will survive on such a pittance.
Seriously, this is going to be interesting. Will the interim president (Fuchs) actually fire Napier? Or will he direct lame duck AD Stricklin fire him, after which Fuchs will fire Stricklin? Will Fuchs then actually hire a new AD since he is only the interim president, or will the BoT hire a new president (usually takes months), who will hire his own AD, who will then hire the new football coach? The palace intrigue of college football! 🏈

A huge game coming up Saturday night in T-town (that’s Tuscaloosa for the uninitiated)! #2 ranked Georgia at #4 Alabama! We were season ticket holders for 30 years. A handful of games stood out as having a different feeling, literally, an electricity in the air. One of those games was the 1994 game against Georgia. Bama won it 29-28 with a field goal with a minute left in the game. Coach DeBoer is going to get his initiation into SEC football. I hope he’s ready.

Yesterday was another perfect day for us Alabama fans. First, auburn got beat which is always so much fun to watch. Then, Bama looked like the best college football team ever for most of the first half before coming back down to earth, falling behind, and on the very next play having a 17 year old freshman make an unbelievable catch and run (below) to seal the victory. It was a great way to spend a Saturday.

Outstanding catch and one fast runner by a freshman.

Sheesh! Where to start. Alabama was totally unprepared to play. From the head coach wearing a t-shirt that made him look like he was going out in the yard to play with his kids; to the coaches putting two guys wearing the same number into the game at the same time; to a myriad of undisciplined penalties; to the head coach deciding to kick the ball to Vandy instead of trying an onside kick with less than three minutes left when your defense hasn’t been able to stop their quarterback and offense all night. From beginning to end, Alabama was out-prepared, out-coached and out-played! It was an old fashioned ass whoopin’! Deboer’s honeymoon is officially over.

I've heard rumblings of jealousy from Texas Aggies that their takedown of Missouri was overshadowed by Vandy's victory - and it took double overtime for Missouri to beat Vandy.

Where did you hear that? I was surrounded by Aggie and Mizzou family members yesterday and this morning. And know and have talked to others. Not a grumble one.
Apparently a “commentl” by one jerk takes down an entire fan base.
But if it was a bunch of folks, moaning online,
they are all jerks.
Aggies and Vanderbilt both played great games, accolades to them. That’s it….

As are Alabama fans…
Actually, we’ve had very little to complain about for most of our history and, specifically, for the past 17 years!

Alabama has had great teams. But the unwarranted statement “Aggies fans are always complaining” proves that certain Alabama fans are “complainers”. Jumping in to disparage a team because of an anecdotal, and unsubstantiated statement about “rumblings of jealousy” proves the complaining nature of some.

It wasn’t so much complaining as disappointment, and maybe it was limited to my household because someone who lives here isn’t accustomed to the other one’s team overshadowing their own! 🤓
