Took exactly one year to show that 4 wasn't the right number for a playoff. Shocking!

And from an espn article:

Phillips said the ACC could consider giving its regular-season champion a bye, and have the teams that finish second or third in the league standings play in the ACC championship game.

He said another possibility is having the top 4 teams play on the final weekend of the regular season: first place versus fourth place, and second place vs. third place, with the winners playing the following weekend in the ACC championship game.

A championship game without the champion who has already been decided and crowned and won’t participate in said game. That’s a very interesting concept and certainly gives new meaning to the word “champion”. I’m just not sure what the meaning is. 🤷‍♂️

It does make sense if wanting to get two teams into the playoffs. But championship games should be de facto first round playoff games. But with 12 spots everything is watered down. Lets consolidate the leagues but make the playoffs bigger.

That’s a play-in game, not a championship game.

Michigan with 3 losses to playoff teams and beat the team who is now #1 should have been ranked.

How can there be a #29 in a Top 25? 🤔
They received the 29th highest amount of poll votes.

Others receiving votes:
Navy 55, LSU 39, Louisville 38, Michigan 36, Kansas St. 11, Marshall 8, Ohio 8, Florida 7, TCU 2, Texas A&M 1.

I know that’s what it means but it’s like they’re trying hard to put a positive spin on the fact they aren’t in the top 25. It’s always been a pet peeve of mine.

Michigan overall record was only 8 win and 5 losses.
Right but beating the number 1 team, 3 of the losses were to playoff teams and beating Alabama in a bowl game (not as much value as they lost to Vandy). I guess hard to shake 5 losses.

Had we not missed those 2 field goals, we would have been victorious.
A winning season for Michigan was when they whip Ohio State. IMHO
Also I feel Michigan should have been ranked in the Top Twenty NCAA final rankings.
BEACUSE OF THEIR TOUGH SCHEDULE and THE NUMBER OF TEAMS THEY PLAYED IN THE NCAA FINAL TOP TWENTY FIVE RANKING.

THEY BEAT #1 OHIO STATE IN A PRESSURE GAME

FINALLY THEY BEAT ALABAMA IN THE ROSE BOWL.
