Could i just set up a closing to sell my bluegreen timeshare to my cousin for $1 so that bluegreen will exercise their right of first refusal and buy it back from me?
You could give it a try I suppose but what if they pass on it and your cousin has to take the ownership? What's the back up plan???

Thank you for replying GrayFal

Im thinking we would just pay the title/law company for their work but not complete the transaction.

You would have to submit the transfer form online And pay the $500 fee Upfront at that time.
if you dont go thru with the transfer your account will be flagged which could make it more difficult to sell at another time.

I suggest you join these two Facebook groups and try to sell it there.
I will copy the link here for you. I have sold 8 contracts thru this group.

The whole thread

seems that way, though the risk of course is bluegreen NOT stepping in and your friend is now the new owner of your timeshare.

@FrankCastle yes, BG is taking back point contracts. You have to pay them 18 months of maintenance fees and sign/nitarize dine paperwork.

call this number
phone number: (844) 757-6932
I haven't been on here in months and had basically given up on my deed back. Thank you for your reply! I was able to call them today. It worked out, I was not within 90 days of my fees being due and paid them the funds right over the phone for the 19 months of maintenance fees. They said I would get a Docusign in a few weeks and once we sign it and send it back they will do thee same. Then we get a copy and done! Well see I hope it works. I've been trying this for the last several years with nothing but run around.

Happy to hear this….once you pay, things should go smoothly.

After 4 months (May 1st - September 1st), the deed back is complete! We received the confirmation from Sterling yesterday that Bluegreen had processed all the paperwork.

Thank you to everyone on this thread that helped me navigate this process!
Not sure if your still on here, was there any "fees attorney or otherwise" associated with the deed back? I got my paperwork an it eludes that I'd be responsible for all of that after I already paid my 18 months of fees. Just curious the certainly didn't mention any other fees. Thanks!

If there was another fee they would say..
Usually they are up front about what you pay

Your paperwork would clearly state what is required. BG Transfer fee is $500. That's it but it could be included in your 18 month MF payment.
If you want to message me, I can take a look at what they sent you and give you my thoughts.
I just filled out a transfer form online and submitted payment this morning so it is fresh on my mind.

@FrankCastle from looking at your post # 207 it seems they did spell it out for you. If there was going to be another fee, it would state it on the document you are signing.

I have sold 8/9 contracts in the last year - once I was at the stage where monies had been paid there was no more charges.

In my case I paid the $500 up front when I submitted the form.
That covered paperwork prep and lawyers office for transfer.

In your case you paid upfront to start the process. I would be surprised if there was an additional $500.
They already got their pound of flesh.

I appreciate that I will send over a PM as soon as I can. I was just worried because its so vague about it. They didn't mention anything past the 18 moths due when I spoke to them and they gave me my quote. It certainly could have been included with that. They certainly got their share from me, full purchase price for 2 TS +18 months all for free. I'm sure they can manage to cover their fees from that. Throwing good money after bad is never fun, but probably better in the end in the big picture. I am happy they finally gave me the chance to move forward.

parents own bluegreen
May I ask, were you up to date on your maintenance fees? My dad died in July and my mom had already been trying to get him to get rid of it but he just wasn't ready, then died suddenly. I talked to someone in August and he said because they were still within 90 days of their maintenance fee due date she would have to pay it. I told him that wasnt happening because she wouldnt be using it. So he said another option would be to just let it go and they would send letters but after 120 days she would get a termination letter. It's beyond the 120 days and they are sending collection letters through Pinnacle. Login still works too just can't book anything. Its been paid in full for yrs. Its only the maintenance fees.
What happened with this? Were you able to just not pay any more of the "maintenance fees" etc.?

It seems criminal that people are (i) paying Bluegreen for these worthless timeshares then (ii) paying huge maintenance fees then (iii) paying Bluegreen to take back the "deed" while also having to pay more maintenance fees.

Why not just stop paying? What can Bluegreen do?

I am new to this forum and extremely thankful to everyone who shared their experience. It showed me some light at the end of the tunnel. Ran into this BG scam at great American mall san Jose last year and got sucked into it with their clever marketing tactics. My wife and I brought 15000 points for 20k (paid upfront with cash) and kept telling each other that we got a nice vacation package for life which we could also transfer to our kids. But our first trip earlier this month Las Vegas was completely disappointing and we decided to 'sell this valuable asset'. A bit of research led me to this FTC page https://consumer.ftc.gov/articles/timeshares-vacation-clubs-related-scams. Spoke to pinnacle, TimesharesOnly and few others to sell but decided to read more before walking into any other trap. A bit more research led me to this forum and it helped me finally open my eyes wide open. We have walked into a 20k scam with $1500/year noose around our neck. Hopefully we can cut our losses soon and deedback to BG. Will update as I start the process.
It's definitely a scam. My parents are out a few hundred thousand dollars to this scam. Were you able to get out of the trap? What did you do? How much did it cost?

Bluegreen Transfer Form, yes it says 2022 but they are still using it.
This is the form you use once you have a signed contract from your buyer. You must submit the contract along with this application and the $500 transfer fee.

@FrankCastle and others contemplating using Bluegreen exit program. A post on 12/18/25 from @Willy1962 outlining the process, time line and ease of using the exit program.
He joined TUG in September and is now in December free from his BG ownership.

I still strongly support selling or giving away your ownership but this is also a great, stress free option.

And @rickandcindy23 is in the process of giving back a fixed week at a Bluegreen resort. Was told they would get the paperwork approximately 30 days after their initial contact with Bluegreen.

Good afternoon!

I'm new to these forums and attempting to get rid of my 6000 BG vacation club points.
I certainly don't mind paying the $500 transfer fee or 1.5-2 years worth of maintenance fees (as I have read is the possibility?) if it gets these points off my shoulders.

I submitted the email form on the Bluegreen site listed on the top of this thread as of this morning. No reply yet, but that was only hours ago. I have been on hold attempting to reach the number listed (844-757-6932) for hours... as of this writing, my call is sitting at 2 hours, 47 minutes without contact with a real human being. Prior to that, I had waited on hold for just over an hour in an attempt to reach the main customer service line with no luck.

Does anyone have any more recent insight on whether they are still taking deedbacks for points? Are there any recent experiences with phone calls versus emails? Do you have any other advice or information?

Additionally, my points have been listed on "Sell My Timeshare Now" for four years with no movement, so I'm rather frustrated by that avenue and I have little faith that trying to list them on Pinnacle would be different.

If you just filled out the form this morning it is going to be a few days/week(s) until they contact you. BG switchboards open at 8 am eastern. Call then and if they say the department isn't open yet find out the time and call back.
If you do get thru be prepared to give them your CC info to get the process started. I will link another thread here for you to read from someone who just completed the give back process. It takes about 3 months.

Edit to add the link to the successful feedback. There is some unrelated chatter on the thread but it outlines the timeline.
Please be sure and let us know how your process goes.
