Is anybody doing the Black Friday shopping thing? I've received a ton of emails with everything imaginable on sale, but none of it is catching my eye. I promise, I'm trying to spend money, but I'm coming up empty. How about you? Are you finding anything cool to buy? Would like to see what you're getting.

Dave

Ken, is this an online magazine? I checked the URL listed, but all I see is more of the same kind of image. And I obviously don't speak German. ??

A new laptop which would mostly function as a desktop was on my shopping list, but I've been disappointed with the deals. No blow outs, and the discounted laptops are mostly older generation processors, meagre storage, or non FHD screens....stuff that should have been blown out earlier. I haven't bought yet, as I discovered the specs I was looking for, for at $100 off in Costco's December flyer. So I'll wait a week. More specs for the money than I could get today!

Sorry, it says:

If you don’t buy anything on Black Friday, you can save up to 100%.

Costco has Roomba i8+ ( aka Costco's version of i7+) $120 off = $580 S&H included. I just ordered one since I have been eyeing this or a 9+ for a while.

Has anyone seen what costs in-store? May buy there instead if less expensive. I find the Costco online is sometimes more expensive.

I have been doing local Black Friday deals. One from an Oil and Balsamic Vinegar shop.

Hello @DaveNV - hope all is well in Nevada these days.
Like yourself, I have yet to find very little of interest given the prices seemed not to be much different than they have been lately.
On the positive side, we're getting ready for Costco to open in Arkansas - July 2021 was the last projected date I saw.

There has been a lot of bluster for very little price drop - on anything attractive - to be sure.....

Costco has recently had very reasonable laptop offers, but nothing that would qualify as a fabulous deal. They even recently offered 50% off AppleCare for MacBook Pros (which is a great deal). I’ve helped a few who bought from Costco in the last two weeks and were quite pleased with the options. But it sounds like you want the latest tech..and that’s almost never significantly discounted on Black Friday.

Nice! I’ve been contemplating this one, too. I’ve recently bought two robot vacuums and am disappointed with both and will be returning to amazon. I was tempted with the i4 and the i8 at Costco, but also the Roborock line (sold at amazon). I did recently buy a newer version of the iRobot mop which is good, but not the better unit that can work with the i4 or i8 (that’s a great combo, btw...it automatically sends the mop after the vacuum does its job).

I’m having the same experience as you. The only thing we have bought is a new iPad Air for our daughter and I ordered that on Wednesday because I read that Apple was not going to be discounting that model, only the previous model. This morning I checked Amazon and they did have it for $30 off. Oh well. So, I’ve been browsing to see if anything else catches my eye but nothing so far.

I really haven't been doing any Black Friday shopping because there is nothing we need and we're scaling back on gifts for Christmas this year. We're giving money to both daughters, along with a gift of food for older daughter and her household. Younger daughter will be getting some of the balsamic vinegar I bought to stock her new apartment. Dh and I gave each other a new water heater.

I am still in the market for Android earpods to work with my zoom computer sessions and phone. Not sure if Apple earpods will work well with non-Apple devices. Any recommendations?

BTW...we purchased a 55' 4K TV at Best Buy earlier in the month for about $150 to put in our vacation home. Quality is not as good as our Samsung but fine for a vacation rental. The actual price was about $195 for pre-Black Friday but we were able to apply $45 in Best Buy credits toward the sale.

The wife just picked up some Jabra earbuds at Best Buy for $69 which work with her phone and computer.
Her phone is android based and her work computer runs Windows. Thus far, the experience is good but she really has not stressed them much yet.....
More to follow.

Thanks. Do you know the model number? $69 is a good price and Jabra is high quality. I was looking at Galaxy earbuds and they are running over $100

I am currently using Apple wired earphones that came with my daughter's iPhones. They have excellent sound quality but I now want wireless.

I bought a new Hamilton Beach coffee maker from Kohl’s. After BF deal, free shipping and my 30% discount it was $60. Plus $15 Kohls Cash for next purchase starts Saturday, I have my eye on a Shark Vacuum.

The coffee maker is side by side, carafe or pods, it has a single pod you can load your own.

Indeed I do -- please click here!

I've seen those, but don't know how well they'd work in my house, with the three animals. I'd think they might gang up on the intruder and try to kill it. :D

Costco online pricing often includes shipping costs. Obviously, in the warehouse, there is no add-on pricing. A lot of what is sold online may never show up at the local warehouse. The entire plan for Costco.com was to expand on the number of line items available for sale, since the stocking room at the warehouse doesn't apply.

I have a love/hate relationship with earpods, and it was reccomended I try these:

Sadly, they are not on sale today (but I've only looked at Amazon thus far) - note the "20% off" is, I believe, a typical price.

Great news about July! You'll like having a local Costco warehouse available to you. There are regional things sold in warehouses that aren't available elsewhere.

I think 2020 should be known as the "Year of the Bluster." :)

Yes, I'm in for one buy this morning, so far. I ordered a Dyson v-10 cordless vacuum for my wife. She loves her Dyson v-8 that I bought for a few years back and even though the v-8 is still running it has been used daily and the v-10 deal from Dyson was pretty good.

We decided to stay away from the stores today which is our usual Black Friday thing. I might look for some online deals to replace my 26 year old home stereo. I'm looking at the Yamaha AV-R's to stream music , Bose 301's and maybe a Bose sound bar.

edited : I received a phone call that the Dyson was on sale at Costco. So I called Dyson and cancelled the v-10 and did end up at Costco and loaded the Dyson v-11 into the cart. The sale price was $399 which was the sale price for the v-10 at Dyson. I also wandered around and loaded a prime whole loin ( about 17 one inch thick new york streaks) that was $25 off per package for a birthday party dinner. Out of the corner of my eye I spied sockeye salmon for $3 off each package so I load 6 fillets. I decided to head to the check out and leave at that point. As I pulled into my driveway I remembered that I was asked to get some tp since I was heading to Costco.

@DaveNV, you can set the Roomba to clean at night or anytime the pets are elsewhere or occupied. USUSALLY she'll make it back to the dock, but ours occasionally hides under a loveseat.

At DW's sisters, the dog has learned how to start Roomba by pushing her control button.
