Black Friday Shopping Deals?

Here in California, the cannabis dispensaries have Black Friday sales.

Somehow I'm picturing lines around the block before opening, like at Best Buy. :D

Dave

My wife bought our Ninja Air Fryer during the Black Friday sales that started early. They weee starting to sell out on Amazon, especially the ones that had free shipping to Hawaii. She ended out getting it on Bed Bath and Beyond. She ended out paying for shipping because she found a coupon that was great and more than made up for free shipping. We ended out paying $169 total and delivered to Hawaii. We were happy with that.

Costco has Roomba i8+ ( aka Costco's version of i7+) $120 off = $580 S&H included. I just ordered one since I have been eyeing this or a 9+ for a while.

Has anyone seen what costs in-store? May buy there instead if less expensive. I find the Costco online is sometimes more expensive.

The have the shark with the canister dock for $320. I bought it over the summer for $500 on sale. That is pretty good deal. We like it alot. Only issue is a bit loud.

I looked at that option! I was also tempted by a different Shark model but was put off by the reviews which said it was loud. I just ordered my third robot vacuum in the last two months, and set up the return for the first one with Amazon today. Today I ordered the Roborock E4. I don't need the best nor the fully automated models, but I do want one with better than average navigation (and I think this has it) and which will work with Alexa. It was on sale today for $180 which is very reasonable, I think, and worth a try.

Fancy vinegar for my Mom from Saratoga Olive Oil Company. Maple Balsamic and White Peach Balsamic. My go-to winter salad is mixed greens, chopped apple (or red grapes), walnuts and little cubes of cheddar, tossed with olive oil, salt, pepper and maple balsamic. My go-to summer salad is mixed greens, raspberries, walnuts, and little cubes of gruyere, tossed with olive oil, salt, pepper and white peach balsamic.

Anyway the Black Friday code is Happy20. 20% off all non sale items. https://saratogaoliveoil.com/

Nice! I’ve been contemplating this one, too. I’ve recently bought two robot vacuums and am disappointed with both and will be returning to amazon. I was tempted with the i4 and the i8 at Costco, but also the Roborock line (sold at amazon). I did recently buy a newer version of the iRobot mop which is good, but not the better unit that can work with the i4 or i8 (that’s a great combo, btw...it automatically sends the mop after the vacuum does its job).

I bought a Shark IQ XL back on prime day for $335. So far I have been happy with its mapping and cleaning ability. Especially like the 30 days worth of debris holding bin. Also the Shark will dump and return if its onboard bin is too full. Price was right, even better than the costco $120 off deal. It is marked down to $319 on amazon today, plus you get 10% back if you charge to a prime card.

I too saw the reviews that said it was loud. Sure I can hear it if I am in that room, but if it is in the next room I can't hear it. Try an upright vacuum, you can hear it next door.

Here in Washington the popular pot stores had an add in the Thanksgiving newspaper. It is an entire full page flyer with 20% off of everything. One of the franchise stores is near Costco and the parking lot was packed when I drove by.

It's hard to imagine that a few years ago a person could end up in jail for having some dirt weed and now we can buy high concentrated thc oil infused gummy bears at a store. That's progress I guess.

I say all the time -- On Dec 31, 2019 pot was illegal in IL. In 2020 is was essential ;)

There was a time when alcohol was illegal, too. I'm not a drug user in any form, but I've been around pot smokers my whole life. It's pretty harmless, I think, from everything I've seen. Especially when compared with the other things one can legally consume.

Weed has become so potent that it is contributing to many regular users psychopathy and other mental problems, imo. I agree that many things are unhealthy when used excessively. Some products used frequently that impair mental acuity are often a disaster to more than just the user, imo. Infrequent recreational use of these products seems to be the norm with responsible adults and that seems to be the group I was in. I say was because I'm now in the less than infrequent group, lol.

We just purchased The Frame by Samsung. We like to watch family pictures when the kids come over or just by our selves with some wine and a fire going at night. We have 22" tv on the mantle but it's awkward and it takes up a lot of space. The Frame mounts on the wall and while we haven't received it yet it looks very nice. When you're not showing pictures it shows artwork. The 32" model is $479 direct from Samsung and we were wavering about that until I saw that they had a no questions asked free 100 day return policy.

If anyone is interested I'll add more info when we get it.

I purchased new Bose earbuds for myself. I loved the comfort of my old wired ones I had, but they are about 10 years old now and wireless ones would be so much easier when working around the yard. Because I use them while working outdoors, I thought the strap would be a nice feature. https://www.bose.com/en_us/products...rt-wireless.html#v=soundsport_wireless_citron

I also bough my kid a new dell laptop.

I may buy some amaryllis bulbs today......

Yes, good decision on getting earbuds with a strap. I bought the Airpods Pro when they first came out and I love the convenience, features and sound quality. However, I can’t wear them when working in the yard because they keep falling out. I even bought some silicone covers that are supposed to help keep them in place. They work great with normal activities and on my daily walk but they still work loose with very much physical activity. I purchased a pair of Powerbeats to wear when working in the yard.

We went to Lowes, JCPenney & Bed, Bath & Beyond. We did not bring home anything.
What I saw on sale was mostly old, crappy or 2nd tier stuff that I didn't need or want.
We don't want any more small appliances/devices cluttering up our drawers & shelves.
Bah, humbug.

I did buy some restaurant gift cards than came with bonuses online.
I also modified some HGVC bookings to take advantage of point discounts.

We signed up for Hulu for $1.99 a month for 12 months. We don't have television but do have Prime and Disney+. We figured what can it hurt for $24 a year for the first year. We also found out that we get HBO Max with our AT&T Internet service. They now have an app on Amazon Fire devices, so that makes watching it much easier.

Nice! We've looked at those, and think they are pretty darned interesting and fun. (I'm married to a photography nut, remember.) I like that the frames you can get for it come in different styles, to match your decor. You might want to do a bit of research about them while you have the return policy. Not sure which version you bought, but there are a couple of different versions of it, and you will likely want the newer/better version. I'm interested to know what you think of it after you've had it awhile.

I need to explore all these "alternate" TV-watching options. The choices seem a bit daunting. Cable here is lacking, in that there are a lot of channels I would never watch, and I find myself only looking at a handful of cable stations. We have things like Netflix and Amazon Prime, which are fine for what they offer, but I'm interested in seeing what is available for network stuff, and how I can see it.

I don't know a lot about Hulu, but when signing up we had to pick shows and genres for it to know what to suggest. It looked like some network shows in there. I think they do have network television shows, but they may be available the next day. We won't really know more till we can explore more. I beleive the $1.99 option runs through tomorrow.

Thanks! I agree - for $24 there isn't much to lose. I'll explore it more today, and see what I can figure out.

I bought a Nespresso coffee machine on sale through bed bath and beyond online on the 25 th as a gift for myself.

We went to return a set of snow chains at Walmart yesterday and were quite peeved to find their customer service closed. They refused to help us while the store looked less busy than a normal weekend. Now we will be moving them with us to SoCal on Monday and returning them there.

Our recent trip through Oregon was interesting as we were appalled by all the cannabis shops. They even had a drive up shop that had at least 15 cars in line. They also had sharps containers in store restrooms. They recently passed a law which made ALL drugs legal. I feel sorry for kids growing up today that will see drugs as ok and normal. Anyone remember the commercials on years ago were they fried an egg, this is your brain, this is your brain on drugs?
