Bay Club Destination Xchange

I am not sure what the deal is with Coylumbridge. It is in the guide but it isn't an option to deposit for HGVC owners. There are many more properties in the online system than in the guide. I haven't heard about Club Regency depositing either but they are in the guide. Plantation, Craig, and Bay Club owners have received the offer to enroll and deposit.
So if owners can't deposit them into DEX, how do weeks show up as available to exchange into? Are there units out there to exchange into at Coylumbridge? If so, where did they come from? Perhaps people who own unenrolled Coylumbridge can use DEX?

Good question. I know folks have deposited Craig weeks but when I look in the system none show up. Nothing shows up for Coy, nothing for Plantation, and nothing for Bay Club

The Craig Lodges HOA negotiated the DEX EU access and it sounds like some Coy owners have contacted their HOA but I have not heard any success to do it. I would think it would be a good move for them since there are owners not in HGV and how knows how long the partnership with HGV will last, since it is a year to year agreement now.

I will say though, the DEX website is pretty crappy so that doesn't help.

Besides the 5 years they give for a week/points exchange, has anyone had good experience with their cash options?

Just booked 2 units in late July via the cash option (Xtras). There is decent pricing.

Sometimes simpler is better. I like the search under Club Select Club Combination better that existed before DEX. It was simple to use. You put in approximate dates, Number of bedrooms, and general location and it brought up all possibilities. It would list Cash and Points options. Never had a problem finding a place to stay. The shorter the fuse between the date you did the search and the check in date the number of Points/cash dropped. Part of the problem may be more people having access than under Club Select Club Combination.

Cash option is hit or miss depending on the resort. We booked an extra night to extend a week trade for cheaper air. Exchanging is more cost effective.

I like the cash option for short stays, like in Gatlinburg. Gatlinburg is a short drive from our home, and I wouldn't want to burn one of my deposits on that. I haven't used cash options yet (because I really can not shoehorn any more trips into my schedule), but I was just looking at that option.

Messing around in DEX EU this morning and I am curious if the other versions of DEX (DEX US weeks, DEX US points, and Embarc points) have the same inventory. I assume that they do but I don't have any proof of that.

I see all the DRI, HVC, Embarc, and now Bluegreen properties, well, not sure all but many and I assume all so I started searching HGVC properties and external exchanges bookable by HGVC Legacy.

I see these:
  • The Crane
  • Craig Lodges
  • Plantation Beach Club at Indian River Plantation
  • Carlsbad Seapointe Resort
  • Grand Pacific Palisades
  • Club Donatello
  • Some of the Fiesta Americana properties
  • The Grand Mayan properties
But interestingly, not Bay Club which I know was just added this year and I know folks have deposited in it...but it isn't in DEX EU.

I also see others in the drop down that you have to search from, like Coylumbridge and some of the Marco Island properties but they have no availability so they may be in the system but just no availability right now.

Just for awareness though, there are 14,292 weeks available between now and August 2027 in Europe, 1,187 weeks in Asia, 314 in Africa, 1,287 in South America, 1,328 in the Caribbean, 3,701 in Mexico, 2,865 in Canada, 16 in Australia, and 75,583 the United States

I just did my first exchange yesterday. I will have to say that the website is very glitchy. I selected a ground floor unit and when it finally confirmed my booking it gave me and Upper unit.

It also gave me that page is unauthorized twice and I wasn't even sure I actually completed the booking until I found it under the confirmed listing. I don't think there is a difference in $$ between online and calling, you might want to call.

I exchanged by Bay Club Bonus week for a summer Week at Embarc Blue Mountain (BM) for July 2026. Both my deposit and exchange were Tier 6 bookings. What I didn't really understand is why the studios at BM are tier 5 and the 1 BR AND 2 BR are both tier 6. That makes no sense to me.

It relates to the cost in Embarc points for our own members. The studios are quite large and located in the "Lodge" building which has the lounge and other amenities on the main floor. A studio in July is 9050 points so they rounded up to Tier 5 which is 10,000 points rather than down to tier 4 at 8,000. A 2 bedroom for Tier 6 points is a "bargain". They cost Embarc members more than 12,000 points (14,250 and 15,650 for Harvest) in our own system. Naturally, our own resorts are blacked out for us...

DeX is VERY Glitchy.
There is a slightly higher price for calling in usually but you can tell them website issues & CSR should not charge you more.
May tell resort re glitches (& see if they can accommodate lower level unit for you)...
Haven't been able to make such granular asks, on specific level units on my exchanges but may be an Embarc thing; mine was regular HVC (P@P)...

In DEX EU, booking online is 165 pounds but calling in is 175.

I don't know the difference between the DEX EU website and the DEX US Weeks but the DEX EU website is very glitchy. It has worked better lately to pay, but in the past, you would pay and it would have an error message. You then hit back on the browser and do it again then it would have a message to call them but if you look in the confirmed reservations, it would be there so then you would need to go to your account payment area and pay it.
