Banking weeks?

Did a quick search, did not find this question ... Hopefully it has not been asked to many times in the past.

We have purchased a week (not points) at the Kona Hawaiian, every other year even, deed is being processed now. Looking at adding some more weeks to it. thinking that every other year we would like to visit Kona for 3-4 weeks.

Does Wyndham have a process to bank a week for future use without enrolling in RCI?

I have found a week every year for a somewhat reasonable price. My thought is to bank one, use that week every other year. So we would have our current EOYE, plus another EY deed. this would amount to three weeks every other year.

Thanks
James

Ahem. I'm gonna take a stab at this since no one else has replied yet.

Worldmark has great banking options. Wyndham used to (cf Points Credit Pool), but anymore not so much.

Many owners here on TUG would advise you to immediately RESCIND your purchase (if from Wyndham directly, aka "developer purchase"), careful reconsider your options...and buy *resale* points for less than 1/10th the price.

But that said, the current Wyndham system *does* have a Points Deposit feature, wherein if you plan far enough in advance (in some cases only 3 months into the use year), you can deposit current year points for use in the next year or the one after that.

Here's the link for the official description:

And here's a (kinda long-winded, ahem) thread discussing using the feature:

PS - if you happen to acquire VIP status thru developer purchase of enough points, the "3 months into the use year" deadline to deposit points forward is extended...the URL is below, but the language is:

"Points Deposit Feature Extension
• Receive additional time after the start of your Use Year to deposit points into a future Use Year with CLUB WYNDHAM. SILVER: Within the first 6 months of your Use Year GOLD: Within the first 9 months of your Use Year PLATINUM: Anytime within your Use Year"

Thanks for trying. I have bought on the resale market, not worried about my "buy in" ... My question was specifically weeks purchase, not points ... and I am buying where we want to stay, not to trade (at this time).

Don't blame everything on Wyndham because sometimes our choices have consequences.

I am pretty sure the only banking option for a pure weeks contract would be RCI or another exchange company. Wyndham doesn’t have anything internally to serve that purpose (or it does, and that’s converting fixed weeks to Wyndham points).

Hopefully Linda will get in on this thread. She seems to have the most experience with owning fixed weeks.

Did the week you bought have a fixed use date? Or does it float? Hopefully a floater because that gives you more flexibility. I bought points at Bali Hai and Grand Desert for a low annual fee of less than $5.00/1000 (MF). I use those pts to reserve Kona Hawaiian Resort and there is never a problem getting the week you want if you book 4-5 months in advance. Buying a week at KHR is a fine idea too if your MF aren't too high.

As you've read above there is no way to 'bank' a week. Just buy floating weeks and enjoy your vacations (assuming MF are reasonable). :) A week during HIGH season costs me about $1000 in fees.

Yes, we bought a floating week.

As stated you cannot "bank a week", and then use it at your discretion another year. If you own a deeded week, you deposit into an exchange company - most likely RCI. RCI will give you their own "currency - TPUs". You then use the "TPUs" to find what you want. You may discover that you "get less" for your week, than you need for the week you want another year. Plus you need to pay an exchange fee of approximately $230+.
