Four. I sorta have heard of this word browsing in bookstores in that there is a section devoted to them but ... Mostly I guessed that the last letter given little choice and then kept trying different things and then opening up another tab and seeing if what I put was really a word. Not very satisfying.

I only know the word because my daughter had an interest in it when she was younger. However, I thought it was specific to Japanese language and culture.

Yuck. Easier to solve if you are a teen or in your early 20s.

Today’s Difficulty

The difficulty of each puzzle is determined by averaging the number of guesses provided by a small panel of testers who are paid to solve each puzzle in advance to help us catch any issues and inconsistencies.

Today’s average difficulty is 5.3 guesses out of 6, or very challenging.

Never heard of the word. Six, and only that because nothing else fit. Stupid word.

Disregard the errors on the guesses. The whole thing was lost in translation.

5 today. Yesterday was a tough word, because it is not a word many people were familiar with, and was "5.3" on the difficulty score. I did a little research, and 5/19 was the word "HITCH" which was a 5.4. Not because it was a crazy word, but part of about 6 million rhyming words. You could run out of guesses easily. Today, I think we will see high scores as well.

Four.

To be honest, I was shocked when my third entry was not correct in that at that point I was searching for any word that would work with the remaining letters. When I hit upon a very common word, I thought "Ah ha, I got it." In any case, four is not a bad score.
