I’ll split the difference with a three. Nice play, @tombanjo!
I tried to open with a POWER move but it wasn’t very powerful, revealing only an O out of position. I used my CLOUT next and it left me with xxOUT. I thought of ABOUT, SHOUT and SNOUT. Although ABOUT is a common word, the letter B is not so common, so I went with it, That’s what I’m talkin’ ABOUT!

Four. Two good words for line three, but as usual for me, I chose the wrong one. It did make line four a given.

A quick 3 for me too
The answer is one of our 2 dozen starter words, but of course didn't use it ;)

I tend to use the same three starter words, in one form or another, mixed and matched based on whichever strikes me on the day. So for me, Three or Four is generally a good score. My goal is to not wipe out. I don't know if I've ever had a One, and only a few Twos, both based on lucky starter words. Lots of Fives and Sixes.

And then, of course, there are the inevitable Sevens. :D

Fe-fi-fo-four!
It is so HUMID this morning, the windows of my sunroom are fogged up and I can’t see the lake, or any green or yellow letters. However, the weather is CLEAR, which did turn three tiles yellow, C, A and R. Track looked like a good fit, and almost was. That K got me again. It was a T, as in TRACT.

Three today. I actually thought that I had a good shot at it with my second word, but it wasn't to be. It helped however because at that point that there were a limited number of letters that I could put into the first position and still have a word. I thought of two other words, but they seemed too obscure.

Word that I rejected on line three as even more obscure: Kraut, Brant
