Four. Should have been three, but I outguessed myself. Had two choices and I picked the other one. D'oh! :doh:

Strange word, indeed. I talked myself right out of a three.
For some reason, L was prominent in my thoughts this morning and I finally settled on LIGHT. The L was out of position, but there. Next, I tried MELON and hit on the ME starting the word. So, I’m looking at MExxL or MExLx. The first word I thought of was MEALY but I thought, no way. Way. I tried MEDAL and did not win one. It had to be MEALY.

I'm in with the fours this morning. I thought I got it in three, but all I really had a chortle from the Wordle gods.

After guess 3, MEALY was the only word I could come up with.

I also pulled a three.
Since I’m in NORTH Florida, I decided to try the compass point. Ooh, a T and H out of position. My first inclination was to go with THxxx but then I thought, this is Wordle. It wouldn’t be that easy. So, I decided to flip them and I was right, HT ended the word. So, I went through my keyboard, skipping the Y, of course, because, how could a Y fit. Hmmm. When nothing worked, I tried again and gave the Y a chance. OH, it’s YACHT!

I solved it in two!

Just in case anyone is interested, my first word was..................................................................................................................crime.
