@Oceans8 The website was created in 2018 so they didn’t just pop up but….
From their website:
“If you own a Marriott timeshare and wish to rent it out, Rent Marriott provides a convenient platform to showcase your property to a global audience. By listing your timeshare with us, you can maximize your rental income and connect with travelers who are seeking luxurious accommodations. Start earning from your Marriott timeshare today by listing it on Rent Marriott.”
That sure sounds good but the website has no rentals so that is a major red flag. 98% of all timeshare marketing websites are a scam. The remaining 2% may not be a scam but they are a complete waste of money. Oddly, they claim you can list for free but nothing is free, and again where are all the rentals? Maybe they are out to steal your Marriott credentials. As
@dioxide45 pointed out, they have no address listed and the only way to reach them is through a generic contact us form. That is another major red flag.
Not sure where you are located, or how you came into contact with this company, but their website registrar is located in Great Britain.
Edited: Did more research. There is a Florida LLC that was created in 2022 by the name of “rentmarriott.com, LLC”. That LLC was created by a Phillip Smith although it is now inactive. There is also a Redweek profile created in 2022 by the name of rentmarriott.com and the profile behind that is “Cliff S.” There are currently 14 active rentals listed. There is also a Florida filing with “Cliff Scwartz” as an assumed name and the person behind that is the same Phillip Smith. It is possible, I can’t say for sure, that the website is used to bring in people who want to rent their week, and those weeks are possibly marketed at a markup by this person on Redweek. They might even have a TUG profile.
