Or book a cheap ticket quarterly with anyone, cancel and bank the credit to combine for a larger trip.

Cheers.
The danger with that is that the credits (except Southwest) expire in one year. In most cases the credits are also non-transferrable. I usually don't fly a specific airline as it's a combination of money and routing/timing, so if I did that, I'd be stuck with that airline and hoping that they have a price/itinerary that fits.

Well that is good news because historically Bay Club has gotten points at 14X and has triggered the $250 credit. But it also used to appear on that list. Some of the NYC properties don't trigger the 14X, are they are NOT on that list. In the past I thought it had been pretty reliable.
Actually, IIRC, the New York properties do generate 14x, but do not trigger the credit. At least that's what I think I remember from almost a year ago.

Cheers.

I looked at the NYC ones and didn't see them on the list but, I don't think they counted before. Or, at least, some of them.

You have to look at the list of resorts, to ensure that your location's MF will quality. Not all locations will. Here is the list to check https://www.hilton.com/en/resorts/

I am glad I rechecked, as Bay Club Waikoloa used to be on this list, but I see that it no longer is. My other resort is still on the list. That will just mean I have to pay in 2 installments, from now on. Jan I am ok, as I will only have 1 resort, but in december I will have to split payments into 2 periods.
Thanks for the post!

I would have paid my Bay Club MF like previous years and wasted the credits. Now will just pay the Kohala suites MF with the credit. Pheww I would have probably lost $800 credit by paying Bay Club MF.

Well, you do now get an extra point (4x) for online shopping. I'm just not sure if I should convert to the Aspire (and why not have the same 4x for online shopping for Aspire that Surpass has? Kind of odd to have a lower benny on the higher end card)...
Yeah...the 6x HHonors points on Gas and Groceries is part of why I chose to stay with my Surpass card for the past couple of years. That it now has a $200 ($50 * 4) Hilton Credit that covers all Hiltons and not just resorts ensured that I kept it and got a new Aspire rather than upgrading.

If you never held Aspire, you should not convert to Aspire. You should get a fresh Aspire and utilize a huge signup bonus on Aspire!
My wife just signed up, so we will have 2, and will use her card to pay part of our MFs

Hell, if you didn't want to, I would have referred her :)

Cheers.
May see if she can try after the fact... Doesn't hurt to try

I went up the chat to see if they could still add the referral.... Nope. They said it is an automated process.

On another note, I booked a cheap Delta flight with the Aspire in the main cabin that allows for cancellation with full eCredit. I don't mind all the money going to eCredit since I will spend it all for spring break anyway. Will see if it works to get the $50 and if so, will have my wife do the same.

I’m going to give travelbank a try. We only have United and American hubs nearby anyway.

FWIW sometimes the referrals don't pay the highest bonus possible. I wouldn't sweat it.

I am going to try the travelbank at the end of the quarter because they are only good for 1 year.

Every time I've added to the United Travel Bank, the funds have been good for 5 years. I had been getting $25 periodically from IHG as I have a credit card with them - those were good for a more limited time that was approximately the same as the time between the $25 deposits.

Looked up the IHG one - it's for the IHG Premier credit card and is $25 deposited 1/5 and 7/5. Those deposits expire on 7/15 and 1/15 respectively, so are good for 6 1/2 months.

Good to know! I was thinking of the IHG credit and flight cancellations which are only good for 6 months and 1 year from purchase respectively.

Can you do this online? or do you need to call it in? Since our amenity is designated to Southwest any purchase we make on United will be from the new benefit bucket. AFAIK

Thank you @raddoc & @Eric B $50 per quarter? or $100/6 months for flight credit?

If x2 player that's $400/year. Me likey...I kept getting our Aspire Southwest credits mixed up with our Southwest credits from our SWA credit cards. I can keep track of both easier this way.

With the new Aspire flight credits you don't have to pick an airline. Not sure if you can still use the old ones.

it's for the IHG Premier credit card
I have this card also but didn't realize it had a airline credit. I just use it when we stay in IGH hotels and the cost is covered by the free night...plus nice to have platinum elite for upgrade/hotel perks.

It is not much money and most of it is breakage since we only fly United 1 - 2x per year.
