[ 2022 ] Hawaii AND Palm Springs Westin Timeshare Giveaway - Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas AND Desert Willow Villas

We just came back for the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resorts on Saturday. We've been there many times and love it there but didn't buy until this week. We bought access to all the Westin's in Kaanapali for $35k, 148,100 pts every other year. We are still debating as we are in our 10 day look period, but am thinking we should just get a resale on Redweek 2 bedroom Westin Kaanapali. If people can give us feedback on which way to go resale week or Bonvoy Marriott I'd appreciate it. Cdirik, if you have a two bedroom you'd like to sell please let me know. We currently have Shell Vacation club, but have could never get to the Westin. Thanks!
If you are in your 10 day rescind period, the best advice I can give you is to annul it asap. Timeshare is always cheaper to buy in resale market. I will add you to the list of interested parties and keep you posted. In the meantime, rescind. You will see so many posts in TUG about buying from resale market. Just do it and then keep watching listings and give aways.

Rescind!!! You should post in the Vistana forum, but I guarantee they’ll all tell you to rescind now. That is very expensive for an every other year contract. If your goal is to spend every other year in WKORV, you can buy an annual oceanfront 2BR for less than what you paid for your island view every other year.

Rescind immediately. It sounds like you know you should do this already, so…

Am I missing something?. Can’t they sell that WKORN for a nice profit? Also, isn’t there ROFR on those properties? Will the new taker be able to get that for free or won’t Marriott just snatch it up

Yup, yup, and yup. See my follow-up post re possible ways to handle the ROFR process. Of course, I agree... they should sell it, not give it away.

We are giving away our 2 timeshares as a bundle.
1. Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas, Even Year Float, Platinum Season, 148,100 Star Options, Mandatory resort
2. Westin Desert Willow Villas, Even Year Float, Gold Season, 56,300 Star Options

Please note that we are giving them away as a bundle. We have been using them together so that we can stay in Hawaii or Palm Springs for 10 or more days at a time. We are NOT giving them away individually.

Both are current on due's, so there is no cost to you. We have Star Options banked for 2023 and first usage would be 2024.
Sell the Hawaii week. You’ll get a few thousand for it. Idk maybe 7-10K maybe less because it’s an island view. Idk why you would give it away.

Thanks everyone for the feedback! I saw that if we buy resale the star options are (Westin Kaanapali) are mandatory, which is a great benefit.

Rescind that 35,000 deal from the developer will always be there.

There have some some posts on this topic in past years to creatively construct a deal so that Marriott can't easily buy it...you may want to search for them.
Any links?

Hi! Did these get taken? :) Interested in the Westin Desert Willow (or both if you need).

Yeah, you should probably consider how to do this carefully or else they're just ROFR the WKORV week. There have some some posts on this topic in past years to creatively construct a deal so that Marriott can't easily buy it...you may want to search for them.
This seems like a fairly simple case to creatively structure the deal, requiring purchase of one good week and one bad one as a single contract seems like a good start.
