Wyndham is closing a handful of legacy resorts - dedicated chart/tracker located in the first post for this unfolding set of events

Again, thank you to all who have responded! I just dialed the dedicated Wyndham line from the FAQ section on page one of this thread, 877-883-3640. It doesn't ring then automatically disconnects after 5 seconds. What now?

It is only open on weekdays during normal business hours.

EDIT: I've added verbiage to that FAQ item stating this hotline is only available during normal weekday business hours for future reference.

Probably too late now for feedback to make much of a difference, but imagine if Wyndham added a recording when someone calls outside of business hours stating the hours of the hotline.

Originally, I had a fixed week that was then converted to points. I don't remember what unit I originally bought, and, like I said it's been nearly 30 years since I stayed here.
How do I 'Search this thread for more information on specifics about SI (Star Island) and which buildings are and are not impacted.'?
Thank you for the response. I'm going to visit the FAQ page now.
See the following posts

Stop using logic when it comes to such basic concepts

For many here, letting go of 7 weeks so easily would be a huge Christmas present. I have a prime week 7 in south Florida that you can own.
Thanks but no thanks.

Help! I am a deeded owner at Star Island. I am currently onsite. While checking in late yesterday, for the first time in 30 years, I was scheduled for a meeting today at 1:30 concerning this issue. I was never notified by email or otherwise and was completely unaware that this was happening. I googled last night and found this thread and all of you!
Please, any other Star Island owners who have been through this, or anyone else who knows the ins and outs of how this is presented, what am I walking into today and what do I need to know!?
We went through this twice. Once in November 2025 during our last visit to Shawnee, my wife and I were falsely told that the session was to update us on our CWA options and the resort closures. It was nothing more than a high pressure sales as usual. Second, when I was on hold waiting for a rep on the CWA phone line to find the options available to us, I received another call from Wyndham and thinking it was a CWA rep I picked it up but it turned our to be an unsolicited Zoom call with nothing concerning the CWA swap just another sales call in which I asked many questions concerning the swap and the salesperson arranged another call back at 2 pm the next day to answer the question but never called back . Unscrupulous?
Best of luck.

So I’m seeing inventory bookable in Shawnee Village in May of 2026 (was looking at a Northeast Trip and it popped up). Is that wrong, or is Wyndham keeping some rooms there?

I don't think Wyndham Shawnee will be open then. The last 2 sections are scheduled to vote on January 10th for a closing at the end of March.

They really should just stop taking reservations now because it’s obvious a lot of people are going to be caught of guard. Stop waiting for the charade of the vote. And if it’s a “legal requirement” - time to tell your lawyers to find a work around at this point.

Even just a warning about the resort possibly closing on the booking screen would be nice. I’m confident that would not run afoul of anything. I didn’t even seek out Shawnee, I was looking at Newport, and the website “suggested” Shawnee. This is going to catch people off guard.

I find it hard to believe that a company that can use deceit, fraud and bad faith on a sales floor that survives legal challenges, can’t have their lawyer find a way to discuss the possibility of reservations three months away not being honored.

But I beat a dead horse as we all know.

So Shawnee will still be open in January & February? I actually could make use of that if true.

There are no available units at Shawnee until April. I have 2 units booked for January 16, Fairways and Crestview. Neither have been cancelled yet but I need to cancel one soon.

When Shawnee does finally close, I wonder how long before the squatters move in.

You and your star chamber of 100 slumlords can claim you own it because Wyndham owes you for their very existence...

got a chuckle (yes, i know its not a laughing matter, but at this point what can ya do) at the emails sent the week before the resorts closed.

those would have been helpful say 2 or 3 months ago!

It truly is inconceivable that this was ever going to be handled well. With 1/1 fast approaching, "we ain't seen nothing yet".

Well I called today because it was the first day they were open since I got the email saying the resort was closing. The phone number they gave was the vacation specialist front line. They obviously couldn't do anything, so they transferred me to owner care, who was completely unsympathetic and said something to the effect of "no compensation would be given due to the bakruptcy". The person I talked to sounded like they just started the job, had a thick Eastern European accent but insisted they were in Orlando.

Would not escalate me, would not do anything but cancel the reservation.

Definitely not the way to do business 3 weeks prior to travel

still jealous I see that we took advantage of what we were told we were allowed to do and were able to enjoy Wyndham without paying a dime. It must bring you much happiness that is no longer the case and many have chosen to walk away.

So now we have to pay if we want to use Wyndham by renting from those we know who are staying who will share their discounts with us

Not jealous, I can spot a shyster when I see one. You and your ilk did more damage to our ownership than you can imagine.

The tens of dollars you proffited won't even buy you a Big Mac value meal. Maybe we will get lucky and read about you when you get audited for not paying taxes on your illegal fake timeshare rental business when the adults are back in charge.

I doubt anyone, even floridaman76 is jealous of your hardly credible backstory

Does anyone know if I can exchange my deposited (deeded) weeks at Interval International if I let my contract go with the sale? I have two separate weeks deposited and my membership at Interval doesn't expire until September. Shawnee closes in a few days.

That's a great question. I don't know that any of us know. If your II membership is through Wyndham, and you are not swapping for CWA, one would think your II membership would go away... if not on 1/1, at some point when Wyndham stops paying II for your membership.

If you convert to CWA, I think you would be forced into RCI as your interval provider.

I would call them, but based on how MY CALL went today, I don't expect you will get an answer on such a niche question.

Have you deposited this year or next year's week into II? If not, this might be a moot point. Next year's week actually will not exist, so I would not expect it to be honored.

I pay II myself not through Wyndham. I have 2024 and 2025 deposited. I'll call II tomorrow and see if they have any idea. I thought it would all poof on Jan 1 but I got a letter today from Shawnee saying that if there are deposited weeks with RCI then call them and see what happens. No mention of Interval and I think Wyndham owns RCI so I may be SOL on this. I'll update if I find out anything.
