Anyone notice a slowdown in travel?

since nobody here worries about getting backing data, here you go. That took 8 seconds to find. LOL. It just isn't emotional and bombastic. Drat!

actually using relevant data ... yeah, I know, around here that is going to a great length. Want to hear about how all the restaurants in S Diego are empty instead?
When I was saying "going to great lengths", I was being diplomatic. I've never seen such nasty attacks by someone who apparently feels he/she is a superior being relative to all others.

So you don't think a 30% decline by Canadians during Jan, Feb, and Mar is significant? Good for you but that belies your alleged data driven view of the world. It puts you in the category of hiding your head in the sand. Even worse, you try to beat others down who might suggest it's a valid data point.

I missed the link to the source of the data you keep referring to. What post is it in?

Thanks for confirming my view that it is nothing but OPA around here.
Opinions.
Preferences.
Anecdotes.

Almost nobody has the initiative to spend 20 sec using google to find the data that will make their Opinion 10x more accurate … even AFTER I give them all the keywords they need to make it simple. You know how to spot someone with zero analytical skills?
  • They have no idea how much data is available.
  • They wouldn’t know what to do with it if they bothered to go out and get it
The comments of Canucktravlr that you have been responding to were about a decrease in international travelers to the US. Your comments and references to "data" seem to be focused in general travel within the US.

And I still missed the link to the data you keep referring to. You said "TSA's daily headcount of travelers at the US borders." I am trying to find a link to the source of your data that shows TSA's daily headcount of travelers at the US borders. I would think that would be every airport that has international flights coming into it (an air border), but how would TSA who does not handle incoming passenger traffic, have any headcount of people coming into the country?

Maybe you can illuminate us without just making pejorative comments?

I still missed the link to the data
LOL. Should I help you put on your slippers too? I gave you the source. You have keywords. You? Fail!
But I get it, people who don't know how to analyze data, see no need to go out and get it. Smart. Efficient. Carry on.

The title of the thread "anyone-notice-a-slowdown-in-travel"

What is the context of this data? Looks like estimated/forecast numbers over time?

Yes the title of the thread is one thing, but CanuckTravlr was talking about a subset of that travel, which you responded to.

Right? Best part is the bombastic guy stating the data (whatever it is) isn't bombastic. o_O

Also, 1,000 miles of travel is measured in volume. Clown Show.

Good. I copy/pasted those words so that you or anybody could use them to get a link to a chart. I google with those words and the first 2 results I get are the TSA and then another site that republishes the TSA data in a pretty good chart. (TSA publishes in a brain-dead way so multiple sites re-publish a clean, compiled version)
Note: it is not really "at the border". I only pasted those words to help you find the best re-published source. The site says that. I think it may be a (DUH) "AI" summary of what they think the data is. But, the site has the right data. No idea why you can't find it. It was result #2 when I pasted that 2 wks ago and it is still result #2.
(call me skeptical that you can't find it)
Anybody here will gag on the TSA version of the data. Use that 2nd result with the nice chart

good question. Even better if anybody here had a clue. Just another example of how easy (as in 8 seconds) to find data that either confirms/denies the big-picture "significance" of the trees people keep bumping into around here. In this case: Denies. But who really understands the definition of "significance" here? Anybody? Bueller?

If anyone can understand the foregoing, my hat's off to you. You must be able to speak the "Convoluted" language..

Here is a question, since I am sure nobody will (could) bother to figure out what that is, ignore what it IS,
just look at it and decide "Did anything REALLY significant happen in the last 30 days?"

with some apparently random data
A) You're just another one who does not know the meaning of the word "random". LMAO@U. does that data look "random" to you? Oh boy!
B) I don't criticize anyone for not knowing. I figured nobody would attempt an educated guess and I am proven right. I hope dioxide (or someone else) will make a good guess and I'll cheer him/her on

"Random" = keep posting and keep proving how little you know about any sort of quantitative analysis

And I still missed the link to the data you keep referring to. Can you provide a link to the source of your data that shows TSA's daily headcount of travelers coming into the country? (Apparently not.)

and you're still a lazy ... you cannot google with those words and nto find multiple links. But keep pretending.
Wait, I forgot to bold and underline. Learn how to use google. Do let me know when you need your slippers removed.

I said "apparently random" because, without labeling, that's how it appears. No source, no explanation, nothing. Just blurt it out. You think you're so smart but all you present is the worst kind of "incomplete". You can't even see why your position(s) are unsupported? And yet you, as flawed an intellect as you obviously have, cannot even see how flawed you are. A fatal deficiency, which has and will no doubt continue to manifest itself during your life. Get over yourself.

davidvel,

How can you not see it? He/she makes it so clear.

...Note: it is not really "at the border". I only pasted those words to help you find the best re-published source. The site says that. I think it may be a (DUH) "AI" summary of what they think the data is...

Crystal clear.
