[ 2020 ] Tuggers I don't see posting any more? Where are they?

Here's a 23 year-old thread on much the same topic - this focuses more on TUGgers who have died.. And there are many people who contributed on that thread who are no longer active.

Another person who was active in the early days was Kurt Brown, the "creator" of the (in)famous Mugwump Towers at Slimy Slough resort. He, perhaps with help from TonyG, also generated the well-known TUG recipe for Boiled Pizza.

Another one I miss is Bootleg, an RCI employee who gave us lots of straight scoop on the inner workings of the RCI system. Unfortunately, it appeared RCI identified him and he quit posting. Bootleg also disappeared from Timeshare Foums and TimeshareTalk, a UK-based timeshare site, where I was also a moderator, at the same time. TimeshareTalk also had another RCI insider, this one from the UK RCI office, and before the site owner let him identify himself as an RCI employee, he vetted him by asking a series of questions about his own RCI account which only someone with access to the RCI computers could answer, and this guy got them all right, so he checked out as the real deal. Both of them were active at the time RCI Points was rolled out and when RCI got into the rental business to non-timeshare owners, and I am sure the RCI management did not like some of the info they were sharing, especially about RCI renting out exchange deposits to the general public on a significant scale.

I wonder if Bootleg is still with RCI. There were times that he would answer the RCI phone from someone he recognized as a Tugger and would make a comment like "it might rain, you may want ot put your boots on."
Surely you remember "Madge" ----- :D

I missed DaveM, he relocated from Massachusetts to Sun City, outside of Hilton Head, SC. He was the expert on Marriott's timeshare information.

This post is truly a stroll down Tug's Memory Lane.

Kurt Brown got mad at us over something to do with exchanging and left the site well before the new format got here. Got a boiled pizza thing going on another forum but they now have recipes online - the cauldron for cooking it has been abandoned. So many of the old crew are gone. Last I heard Fletch was working for Disney. I've got a thing about not asking about people I haven't seen in a while - I didn't like some of the answers I got.

I concur...
Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind?
Should old acquaintance be forgot, and auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne.

I think @geekette was trying to build her new life in NC. Not sure the last time was that she posted, though.

I am glad that @Panina is doing well in FL; she deserves it. :)

If you click on someone's user name - a popup will tell you when they were last seen on TUG.

Not for everyone, at least not for us peon non mods. But you may also be able to look at their profile and see when their last post was. For @geekette , it was in November.

Interesting - I didn't know that. geekette was last here Nov. 24 and Panina was last here Feb. 2022.

I can see when someone was last here, unless they have such things turned off on their profile.

BTW, Panina hasn't replied to my Tug message to her three+ weeks ago. I checked to see if I had a phone or direct email for her, but I don't. I'm hoping someone who does can reach out to her.

Dave

I thought you could- here's what it looks like:

Geekette is set as "invisible", thus why we can't see last seen date.

Interesting how people just fade in-and-out. For a while when I was really absorbed in cross country moves to Idaho and working crazy I just kind of faded away for months at a time. As you can see I'm like a buzzing annoying fly around here these days.

Yes, it all depends on their settings. @Panina reached to me when she was divesting some of the HGVC-affiliate resorts. I just couldn't take any on at that time. But I also thought it was such a nice gesture. She's good people.

I've only met a few TUGgers in person, and they've all been great. I would definitely be interested in a cruise or a gathering. The Jan. gathering is tempting, but it's 1) middle of the week, 2) I work a full-time "day" job, and 3) I have a school-aged child. If was actually on MLK Day, or even the day after, I could probably swing it...some year.

I reached out to @Panina also back in July and no response. Was just saying hello and hoping all is well since she has not posted in a while. Hoping she is busy and enjoying life.

I am Facebook friends with Panina. The last time she posted on FB was later November.

She has a new love in her life and posts a lot of pictures of family. I would say she is well because I have not heard or seen anything contrary to that.

I just posted on her wall that TUG members are asking about her. I expect her to come back and say something on TUG.

Then there was I think his name was Ron Parise? He was a big Wydham owner/renter. Always had good tips on how to rent out Wyndham.
Big expert on New Orleans. Good for answering questions.

This video looks like it was posted by pwrshift.

Anyone hear from @pwrshift lately?

I haven't seen him posting on TUG, but there have been recently videos posted to his YouTube channel. The last one on APril 30th. None are timeshare related. It looks like he is taking old photos, home movies and videos and editing them to post for long term legacy.
