Speaking of bigger fish, I ran across the Wisconsin Dells Rentals Facebook group the other day. Now that is a racket. I now know why it is so hard to get into Glacier Canyon in the summer!

Yet, a small, but vocal minority here would still lead you to believe that renting is not a problem... meanwhile some of them are frantically liquidating their ownerships because they have millions of points they can't use...

The tiny amount of supposed business you throw their way is not enough to give you special treatment. It’s a little arrogant to think you have a big enough impact on their bottom line to warrant giving you a pass.

Yeah, this guy is the very definition of small fish... but he will get what's coming to him eventually. Hopefully sooner than later. The scourge of the renter will be expunged!

See you next month which will be month 24. But don't worry I will let you know if they toss me so you can celebrate my demise. I already consider it a victory. Once the rentals paid off the loans, anything else was gravy. I still needed the rentals when they cracked down on rentals.

Who?

If Wyndham ever managed to get rid of the big and medium fish, I’m sure they will set their sights on the little fish. I think they would need a more efficient manner of targeting them. As hitchhiker said, they simply do not have the resources to continuously hunt down renters, so they stick to the big fish and maybe the low hanging fruit.

I am ok with the owner occasionally renting if they have points that they cannot do anything with, but to profit off of it is a whole other thing entirely. I think if the only people renting were ones who occasionally have points they cannot use, Wyndham wouldn’t be on a witch hunt right now.

No but if they like the resort, they may book from the hotel site if they want to return and there are no timeshare rentals to be had.

Yes I am a small fish but I am one of many and that then adds up

Not as much as you might think. You’re gnats. A lot of them can be annoying but harmless overall. Eventually though, you want to do something about before they become a problem.

I would agree completely, but it's also pretty obvious, some of the vocal, obnoxious ones on here, despite being a little fish, are also more than occasional renters...

Just as there are some vocal, obnoxious people who complain about renters, big and small, at every opportunity.

Weird, I am in that group and it rents Christmas mountain cottages. I have gotten a whooping $150 for spring break week.

Ouch! That probably wasnt enough to pay even a fourth of your maintenance fees for the week.
