My best one was my birthday week pool villa at Westin St John for $1,700. Most of my other resales were either free or sub $1,000.

$6,000 for Allen House in London. Used it for fabulous Spring Break trades for about 6 years and then sold it for $6,000.

I spent $350 to get 272,000 annual RCI points. $50 for a NYE week at Grandview in TPU, to take advantage of the lower VV exchange fee. Now I think I have more than I want but my value is so good I don't really wanna change it up =/

We've won two separate eBay auctions for Westin Kierland 37000 units (small side one bedroom; shoulder season). Both were "free" in that we received the current year's usage without reimbursing MF's, and the MF's were more than we paid for the unit, including closing costs.

Traded those guys for units at Westin Ka'anapali, Nanea, Lagunamar, Princeville, etc. Used them for SO's a couple of times also.

Sold one of them for $100 (big profit!). Still own the other.

Westin St John Fixed week 7 one bedroom 2 bath for $500. It was on my resort network. I emailed twice with no response. Two months later I contacted MRN as it was still listed and it ended up that there was a glitch with the email. Have owned it for 7-8 years. Rents great or 95,700 SO

I forgot about my week 27 at Holiday Beach Resort in Pensacola, bought it for $261 from Sumday and resold it two years later for many, many, many, many times the purchase price.

I had a couple of Palm Desert Marriotts that I bought for a dollar during the recession and sold through Marriott back when they were brokering resales. Those were the days.

Samoset Resort, in the great state of Maine. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to acquire sought after top floor unit weeks from a woman helping her ailing parents part company with an ownership in which she herself had no interest at all.
Can't say it was a "bargain", but it's one of the two best units on the property (and this thread asks for best resale --- not cheapest).

We use and enjoy that unit every year and always really look forward to doing so.

I am greatly enjoying this thread and your stories. For us, no "killer deals" but I would say they were fair deals (didn't overpay) and one property, our WKORVN OF EOY has held steady and possibly increased slightly since the pandemic began.

Of course compared to developer prices all resale are a "killer deal." With resale your downside is limited. IMO... Even losing a few thousand in cap value over a 10 - 20 year period on resale is no big deal. compared to losing tens of thousands on developer. We have gotten way more value and enjoyment than the loss of a few thousand dollars.

A number of you are saying that "you can't get deals like that anymore." Given prices have dropped for many resorts with pandemic and many of the major brands are not applying ROFR, is there a reason?

Ah Sumday helped now dear husband buy Marriott Shadow Ridge EOY for $500 all in. Also got a Grand Chateau 2 bedroom for 2k in 2017 on EBay. Think we are done, with our lock offs we get 5 weeks a year. Due to Covid and our impending retirement we have a huge back log of weeks in II.
