Hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice about Wyndham timeshares. I recently purchased a 100k points package but I'm still within the rescission period. I'm wondering if it makes sense to buy directly from the developer, or if there are better ways to access the benefits like RCI, Interval International, and the club's concierge services and discounts without paying 20k. I see options online for less that 1K or even free, and I'm okay with maintenance fees, but I'd like to understand the process and what options are available outside of buying directly from Wyndham.

Has anyone had experience with this, or does anyone have any insights they can share?

Thanks in advance!

I believe that you can pick up packages for free so I would rescind.

If you don't plan on purchasing up to VIP (and really the current benefits for bronze and silver probably still aren't worth it), the differences would be very minimal. You wouldn't be eligible to book worldmark properties using your points. But with 100k points if you want to book worldmark, you should buy worldmark. You won't be able to convert your points to hotel reward points or for other uses but the window to convert and the conversion rate is so bad, it isn't a good use of points.

I think most people would be better off getting 210,000-280,000 points resale and using the $17,000 plus interest that you would have paid on the 105k points to pay the extra in MF's that you will be paying in the next 15+ years.

100k points is very small amount and you may not be able to book a full week at many resorts.

Where do you want to go, we can look up how many points you need to reserve a full week?

Rescind while you can, figure out how many points you need for travel and pick up a free or cheap contract.

Long story short: Rescind and buy resale. You have only a precious few days to rescind (varies dependent upon the state in which you purchased the contract - it's anywhere from 3-15 days max). You have the rest of your life to buy back in, and likely at a lower price than what you paid at a local resort, if there's ever a reason to make a developer purchase. Here's a couple of links to articles to help you with your path forward:
