Why did I end up with 2 member IDs

We have 150 direct points at Poly. We are looking to buy resale points at Animal Kingdom. I was told today that even if both contracts are the same UY (with the same buyers), they will each have a different member #. I hope she was wrong?
Who told you that? (It’s not true).

Thanks. A listing agent at a DVC resale company. Did the rules change in the last year or so? I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt.

I spoke to another agent this month at a different company about why they had a listing that included 2024 points where they said I wouldn't be able to use those points (because closing would be too late). I asked couldn't those points be banked? The next day the listing showed those points banked into 2025. Are there any recommendations on which companies to use?

No, the rules haven't changed, but oftentimes there is confusion between Membership numbers and Contract numbers. A Contract is for a specific number of points at a specific resort in a specific UY, and when that contract is re-sold it retains those characteristics (although DVC assigns a new number to that Contract). A Membership can contain multiple contracts from multiple resorts, but all the contracts in a single Membership must have the same UY and the exact same owners (exactly the same names, listed and spelled the same way - for instance, if one contract is under wife's maiden name and the other is in her married name, that would put them into two separate Memberships).

So maybe she was thinking of Contract numbers, which would be different for each of these two contracts, as opposed to your Membership number, under which both Contracts would be found as long as both Contracts have exactly the same owners and same UY.

So it’s smart enough to know which contracts can be pooled for certain resorts and which cannot at 7month?
