Vidanta time share advice

When you pay for a resale contract you lose any perks (golf, massages, etc) that were with the original contract.

Do you know if this is true on all resale? Could there possibly be a way to maintain these perks?

I'm not sure about this as we have never used ours as we are not golfers and even at 1/2 price, the massages are pricey compared to the ones on the beach or in PV. We never used them, but I would not be surprised it they drop them on a resale.

I checked my contract and the Transfer Fees are equal to 10 "then current" MF - so about $60,000 for TWO 2-Bedroom weeks GL Master Suite if I were to sell it in 2026. They probably would charge taxes on top of that. Mine is not the higher levels of GL as we bought it in 2013 when they were pretty new and did not have all the new levels.

I left out that I have TWO 2-bedroom GL units.

It will be interesting to find out the bottom price for this unit that retails at $60k (taking into account the cost to transfer).

Not on a resale, but you can negotiate on a new contract any manner of perks with the developer (for a price of course).

If you go by what Phyllis (Pittle) wrote, the cost to buy the resale would probably be about equal to what the original price was. Vidanta has greatly discouraged someone buying a resale, so they strip off the perks, charge a large fee to change the name on the title, and then when your 10 year (or 20) time on that contract is up, you pay 10X MF to get another 10 (or 20) years usage.
I know they don't want me to renew my Mayan Palace contract for around $6000, times have changed since it was written in 2001. No more bargains to buy resale. Back then it was one MF to get a resale contract...then it went to 10% of the original contract to get a resale...then it went to much more.

My bad - It would be $30,000 for one week. I have 2 weeks plus the "bonus weeks".
