Unexpectedly hazardous bathroom trash can

So many people have commented on the shower's blue wall tile. I do love it -- reminds me of designs at the Alhambra, plus that's my favorite shade of blue. I wanted the wall to be beautiful, since I would see it every time I walked in the bathroom. I wish I could provide a link to the site for everyone, but I can't find the info [was in November 2021]. However, I know I bought it through a local Home Depot, although it had to be shipped there. I wanted a local connection in case something was wrong....
That's a "rain shower" texture on the door -- privacy but pretty.

prWe actually don’t keep trash cans in our bathrooms. Our bathrooms are very small. We do have one just outside the master bath in our master bedroom. It’s a metal wire type one. Very light. We line it with a plastic grocery store bag.
You sound just like my Commander in Chief, she has a silver plate trash can with a Lined plastic grocery bag in her bathroom.

But it is the private responsibility to empty it weekly or sometimes twice per week. LOL

I do have that hard clear black plastic trash can in my bathroom./with a small lined white trash bags. I empty my trash can weekly or sometimes.

BTW, this is the terribly dangerous weapon that cut my ear :)
This sort of reminds me of the old saying, "It not the fall that will kill you, it's the sudden stop." ;) I'm glad it was not worse and you are okay!

Outstanding.

My wastebasket is tucked between the toilet and the shower, so there is no way I could hit it. But bathrooms can be dangerous regardless.

What I especially like are the multiple shades of dark blue in little flower patterns within each tile.
Here's a close-up photo attached in case you want to use the AI feature that can search for matching images. I didn't find anything identical, but here are two that are similar:

No fun getting older. When we remodeled our bathroom we took into consideration pretty much all eventualities. The two major improvements are it is now zero entry and we also had the extra grab handle put it.

Many years ago I switched from glass bathroom accessories to decorative plastic for safety reasons. I assumed this would protect me from serious accidents -- wrong!
Two weeks ago I fell in the bathroom while bending over to wrap my long hair in a towel to dry after a shower. I lost my balance and fell over, hitting my ear on the top of the hard plastic trash can, which is 8" square with a 1/4" thick edge.
It nearly severed the top half of my ear, including the cartilage!
Sixteen stitches in the ear and two staples in my scalp clearly demonstrate my poor assessment of the risk.
The stitches were taken out yesterday. Thank goodness, the ear looks good as new.
I now sit firmly on the toilet seat before bending over to wrap up my wet hair. I also have ordered a Rubbermaid trash can with a thick rubber edge -- looks be damned.
Wow, that must have been rather frightening. It might have been lot worse, but I'm so happy your ear recovered and looks good now.
I appreciate you sharing this. It serves as a helpful reminder that, in the event of a fall, even plastic objects can be hazardous. The rubber-edge trash can seems like a terrific concept, and it's a pretty wise adjustment to sit down before bending over. I hope you heal quickly and don't have any more restroom mishaps.

I’ve been exercising every day since I’m 38 (now I do 5 days) and I keep saying what good has it done when I’m in pain every day now?

I know people much older than me biking like 26 miles per day, hiking up mountains, skiing, working jobs, traveling everywhere , etc. people in their late 70’s and 80’s. I even read about people in their 90’s doing stuff.

I know I shouldn’t compare myself with others.. My doctor says those people are outliers. I feel like I’m the outlier! lol!

There are certainly many people who haven’t even made it to my age I know. I do the best I can I guess. We have to be thankful.

Our doctors tell me and my husband we are healthy. We say how can we be healthy?

I mean I hurt every day. I can only walk 2 miles and I often limp if the pain kicks in. I have a mucus/phlegm problem- a plug in my throat- that the docs haven’t cured. GERD or allergies or no one knows what. I have high cholesterol and triglycerides. I need cataract surgery.
This sounds like me. I also have chronic pain and fatigue issues. My doc says to exercise more but I do. We walk our dogs up to 2 miles and I have specific exercises to help strength my hips, etc. It's frustrating. If I push more, I end up exhausted and in more pain. In younger days, I could up my exercise routine to get stronger and tolerate more work - not now. I am feeling very old.

So sorry. I can relate for sure. I have no answers, but I know I’m not aging well.

My doc used to ask me if I exercise.
I made a joke of it by asking, "Does punching the remote count?"
