[Ugh] Another Honors Devaluation up to 200k

Also keep in mind that this is without factoring 5th night free which makes Hilton point value stand out and a drawback for Hyatt extended stays.
We rarely stay for that long at hotels, but this is a very valuable feature when we do. And a selling point for Hilton over other chains.

Cheers.

In December of 2019, we stayed at the Kuching Hilton in Sarawak, Malaysia on the Island of Borneo. We got upgraded as Diamond Members to a large suite on the executive lounge floor overlooking the river, city hall and the city market square. It was only 10,000 HH points a night and 5th night free. Of course it included breakfast and this wasn’t any ordinary breakfast. It consisted of six different stations most cooking fresh dishes - Chinese, continental, Malay, Western, Indian, and Nyonya (local). Then in the evening it was free cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and snacks. OMG we were gaining weight fast. We loved the city, the region and had a blast. We had over 1,750,000 HH points at the time and calculated that we could stay six months without spending much except transportation and activities. Of course we would have weighed 600 pounds by the time we left. The same place now costs 20,000 per night so it has doubled. Still a bargain.
