We drove down to VA for a weeks vacation last month and when crossing the Peace Bridge (into Buffalo NY) probably about 75-80% of the vehicles in line around us at the border had US license plates, usually its mostly ON or other Canadian plates. The US Customs/border guard, after asking the usual questions, thanked us for visiting the US.
We will likely be crossing at the same border point in 3 weeks when we head south for the winter. When our friends and neighbours ask if, or why, we are still travelling to the USA we explain that we are unable to find 70*+ temps every day all winter in Canada, we own a condo down there and are not going to let it sit empty until the US Govt situation changes, and our oldest DS and wife now live in FL so we want to visit them.
