Trying to get Covid vaccine since March 5th. No luck.

My wife just scheduled one for this Sunday via CVS in Loveland, CO at cvs.com. I just looked and they still have appointments available with several date choices.

Kurt
Thanks. It truly is the luck of the draw. Nothing available in CO CVS at the moment, but I will add this site to the list that I check a couple times per day as time allows.

Seems pretty easy to get the shots in Steamboat Springs according to the local paper. I got mine back in Sept as part of the Moderna trial so I have no first hand knowledge. Check the online edition of the Steamboat Pilot and Today. They regularly report on vaccine availability.

if you want to make the 3 hour drive from Denver and make some turns as well as get vaccine, the snow is holding up fairly well.

Cheers
I spent some of this week in Steamboat Springs. The skiing on Thursday was some of the best spring skiing ever. I know to wait until about 10 a.m. at this time of the year for the snow to soften a bit, then spend the day bombing down the runs off the Sunshine Express lift.

I left Denver on Friday to drive to Craig, CO to beat the predicted storm. One of the smartest moves I ever made. Having lots of time to kill, I tried seaching the excellent Safeway site for Steamboat appointments any time during the week I was in the area. I also seached the site all week using the zip codes for Fraser and Idaho Springs for my return date. No luck.

I did not try the UC Health site for Steamboat, because I think they use a waitlist, at least that is how it worked for my MIL for UC Health in Denver.

Steamboat is offering a $199 Springalicious Pass for the next four days. If I can book an appointment anywhere in the Steamboat Springs area in the next four days for any day the resort is still open, then that will be a no-brainer.

Another thought...call your. Local legislator!!!
Ah-hah-hah-ha. They got theirs a while ago. No having to fumble around on the internet like the peasants.

Ugh so sorry for your frustration. Hope this option works out for you though!
Live in SW MO and by April 9 they expect to open vax to everyone. Our two big health systems in Springfield MO seem pretty organized, I had my second dose in Jan as I’m classified as HCW, hubs just became eligible. He Got call Friday easily made appointment for Monday when we are home from Mexico, but I think St Louis is having issues with appointments.

Still daily letters to the editor from seniors unable to get an appointment in fort Myers area and the governor has lowered the age to 50

For what it’s worth I am doing the mass vaccination at the broadmoor arena and coming down from Denver for it.

Have you signed up for any of the vaccine queues provided by your insurance or the larger healthcare providers like Kaiser, Centura, SCL health or others?

You do NOT have to be a member of any of those health groups to sign up for their queues. If you were eligible for an earlier phase you will be at the front of the line.
I just signed up for the Centura mass vax events that begin Monday. If I understand the information correctly, it will be one to three weeks before I receive an email that allows me to set up a Centura account that will allow me to schedule an appointment for who knows when after that.

How did you make the appointment? Did you have a Centura account?

"Centura Health, working in conjunction with the state and counties, will launch drive-up vaccine clinics in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, and Commerce City over the next week.

The clinic at the Broadmoor World Arena will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., but those eligible and seeking a vaccine will have to register with Centura Health ahead of time.

The mass vaccine clinics at the Colorado State Fair Grounds in Pueblo and Dicks Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City will launch on Monday, March 22."

Good Luck , hopefully you will get vaccinated soon!

I just used this link:

That link turned out to be "somewhat" helpful. Only the 2-dose Moderna and Pfizer vaccines were options at the three vaccination sites. No slots were available for any of the three locations (no surprise), but I was able to at least add my name to the waitlist for the Pfizer vaccine at Dick's Arena in Commerce City. If I find the J&J vaccine somewhere before then, I have the option to remove my name from the waitlist.

It is a bit strange how following the centura.org link in the article led to a multi-week process to arrange an appointment, whereas there is another internet door for a more direct access to the mass vax appointments through Centura.

The J&J vaccine is still pretty limited right now. If that's your preference, I would keep an eye out for a mass vaccination with it. I know Douglas County had one a couple of weeks ago, and I would expect to see more as the supply increases.

A friend in Oregon showed me a link to one mass site. On Monday and Wednesday, they were dispensing Pfizer, on Tues and Thurs, Moderna, and on Friday J & J! I thought it was strange, but that's what it was.

Whatever. Any of them will keep you out of the hospital. That's the BIG thing. Take what's offered.

They went in one week from lowering to 60-65 then to 50. It will be so much harder to get an appointment.

I am also in CO and checked the site vaccine finder daily (actually my wife did).

This checks multiple locations and tells you if they have the vaccine in stock. Then you need to check the actual site. It is hit and miss to get an appointment but at least let’s you know if they have the vaccine. I eventually found it at Safeway and got my first dose about a week ago. I got Pfizer and had no issues at all. My wife got hers at King Soopers and has now had both doses. She had Moderna and had a sore arm for a few days. Good luck!

Hi Rapmarks,

If he is a Vet, he is eligible to get a vaccination shot at a local VA facility.

Good luck.

Richard
He is eligible but is waiting over three months since they started vaccinating

Except "not really available." This is just another example of the "ghost" appointments that waste my time with these "search" sites.

Used the link you provided. LOTS and Lots! of appointments "available" for multiple dates over the next week at the WalMart in Brighton, CO .

Immediately went to the WalMart site, selected the Brighton Walmart. Ghost appointments. Go ahead, anyone. Try these "search" sites. Let me know how it goes.

So my wife got back from her journey to Sterling, CO for her Moderna vaccine appointment. My daughter, who plans to go to college in Sterling next year, my MIL and my wife stopped by Jackson Lake State Park for a hike on the way to the Sterling, CO WalMart, as a bonus.

While at the WalMart for 40 minutes, two other people arrived for their scheduled appointments. My wife and her family is about as blue as one can get. Her opinion is that, "There is NO WAY we will get this country Covid immunized at a rate of 4 people per hour in pharmacies." I asked her about her second appointment. Yes, she had to schedule it at the same pharmacy 3 hours away, but she will try to find the second shot closer to home and (conscientously) cancel her second vax in Sterling, because the second vax is the same as the first vax and that cancellation would open a first or second vax for someone else.

This just in: My 17-year old daughter just received an unexpected, and unregistered for, Covid vaccine appointment for next Tuesday through UC Health (University of Colorado Denver Health), in which system she was a patient. No explanation why, so open to speculation. She had an infant heart condition, long since resolved is the only guess. But whatever ...

To be clear, I am entirely OK with waiting for months, if necessary, for anyone who wants a Covid vaccine before me. All my efforts are just so that a Covid vaccine does not go to waste when it could be used for anyone qualified at the time to receive the vaccine.

@CO skier, I get that you are having difficulty getting vaccinated. It's kind of a 'be in the right place at the right time', or click the right link when they first open, but it WILL happen. Nobody is consciously trying to keep you from getting one. As of today, 100,000,000 Americans have gotten at least one shot. That's the best of any country on earth. So keep trying. It WILL pay off.

Considering my total lack of success in scheduling an appointment since March 5th , it it a miracle one-third of the American population has succeded where I have failed. I find the statistic difficult to believe.

It will happen. We were in the same boat 3 1/2 weeks ago and as @Passepartout said we were in the right place at the right time and finally got an appointment after a weeks+ search for one. Thursday we received our second Pfizer injection. It's like stress has been taken from us. Hang in there and don't give up!

How many Americans, who do not bother to get the flu vaccine that do not require an appointment, have the interest or patience to "finally get an appointment" for a Covid vaccine?

That is the problem with the current and future Covid vaccine distribution system.

It varies widely based on where you are. 40 year olds qualify in the state I just left!
