Co skier. What we did here was when people couldn’t get an appointment, a group of us would get the information and all would pitch in and call or go online to help them. Ten or so people would be trying on all their devices.

Thanks for all the ideas, but so far no one has posted how they arranged, or could schedule, a Covid vaccine appointment online in Colorado, which should not be that difficult. I would like to do my part, but I am not desperate.

I walk over to the grocery store a few times per week. Maybe I will try the walk-up and ask approach each time I am there to at least arrange an appointment, if that is even possible.

Failing that, I will just wait a few months until the various vaccines are more widely available for, hopefully, walk-up vaccination like the flu shot that do not require any kind of appointment.

Failing that, I will just "forget it."

How many others, less persistent than I and those on Facebook or using Nextdoor, will reach the same endpoint?

I found these among many other appointments on line using https://vaccinefinder.org/search/ and fooling around with different zip codes. King Soopers Pharmacy seemed to have the most appointments available. As I am sure you are aware of, Google maps says this is about 17 miles from Denver. Sometimes to pays to have insomnia and search in the middle of the night. Good Luck.

I just got my second shot yesterday and feel your pain. I had gotten my first shot at a Mass vaccination clinic that was a 3-hour drive away ( got it while working there). Trying to find a second shot near home was ridiculous. I did finally have success using the vaccine finder but it really is a process of just searching multiple times a day and happening to catch it at the right time.

It actually took me 4 tries before I was able to get the vaccine. I made an appointment at Walmart, got there they looked at the card, and even though the appointment was the day listed on the card, they said it was a day too early and that I could come back the next day (it was an hour drive) so I found another appt closer for the next day....got there and they said it was only for first doses....they wouldn't give me the shot. So I go back to Walmart....they said to come back the next day, I did....they said sorry that didn't have any doses left for the day. By this time I was banging my head against the wall. Look online again and find a spot for the second dose for the next day and this time was finally able to get it.

How are people finding where a Covid vaccine is available, much less a second dose?

In Michigan, they are offered by County Health Departments plus Meijer, RiteAid, and Walgreens pharmacies. The County and Meijer have a waiting list you can sign up for. For RiteAid and Walgreens we had to check regularly for availability. Much like booking those hard-to-get timeshare weeks, checking very late at night/early in the morning has been the ticket. At least here, a second dose is scheduled when you get your first one to make sure you have it, but that makes getting first does a little harder at the beginning.

My wife just scheduled one for this Sunday via CVS in Loveland, CO at cvs.com. I just looked and they still have appointments available with several date choices.

I feel your pain. I was able to get one for my husband at 1:27am two days ago. I happened to still be awake (reading a book that I just can't put down) so I thought that I would give it another try and found an appointment immediately. That said, I agree that it shouldn't be this difficult. The two of us searched as much as we could for three days before I found that appointment.

A friend used covidvaccinetexts.com It's a site that will send you a text once you register. She had success, I did not, but it's worth a try.

I would target any supercenters that you have. Those by definition will have the most slots. It turns out that I am eligible (didn't think that I qualified when I found one for my husband). Yesterday my sister and a friend who knew that I was looking both sent me texts when they saw slots open up at our supercenter and I was able to get one.

I am not a big consumer of social media so I did not use those. But all you really need is a friend who is.

In my experience, in terms of "finding" things the hardest thing to get is a campsite in Yosemite, followed by a vaccine, and lastly a week at WKORV using II.

Walgreens do not even offer the option of a Covid vaccine appointment on their website.

We made appoints on Walgreens website two weeks ago on Saturday at about 7:45 am EST for the following Tuesday. We got our first shot and scheduled the second at the same time for 28 days later. I tried other times, put nothing was available.

On Walgreens.com I typed covid in the search bar to get to the covid page. Perhaps we got the appointments because it was hard to find the page. They were only doing 4 appointments per hour.
I just noticed that now they have the covid link on the top of the first page.

Kind of sad if Facebook (which I am most definitely not part of) is how the nationwide Covid vaccine distribution will be successful.

Uh, yeah, I'd be left out also. Not joining that to get vaxxed.

I've found local news to be helpful in locating vax sites I might not have thought of. Not sure that's of any help to you but there have been some really obscure sites I would not have thought of. Like, Tomorrow in the Church parking lot, no appt necessary! The empty lot beside the school. Stadiums.

Could you maybe call whatever hospital system you're affiliated with? I have been getting emails from them all along as we move through groups and those emails usually detail which clinics they are doing, when/where/who. Mine is part of a university, not that it makes a difference, I do not know.

I don't know, just basically sending you good vibes on getting that darned appt but most people I know got vaxxed on walk in basis.

I’m in Colorado. Today was my first day of being eligible. I signed up for a mass vaccine this afternoon. I found a couple of open appointments at king soopers as well, but didn’t feel comfortable booking since they hadn’t updated the language to reflect the new phase that opened today.

For what it’s worth I am doing the mass vaccination at the broadmoor arena and coming down from Denver for it.

Have you signed up for any of the vaccine queues provided by your insurance or the larger healthcare providers like Kaiser, Centura, SCL health or others?

You do NOT have to be a member of any of those health groups to sign up for their queues. If you were eligible for an earlier phase you will be at the front of the line.

Thanks. I have been down this path many, many times with these search sites. When I try to reserve one of the "available" appointments in the moment, it only results in the

"None of the locations in your search currently have appointments available for COVID-19 vaccines. Please try another zip code or city within the state in which you're eligible, or check back soon for available appointments."

Some of the search sites even acknowlege the problem with "ghost" appointments.

I do think within about 6 weeks or so, supply will start to exceed demand in CO (not that the demand won't be strong, they are just cranking out vaccines).

We were through for our first shot in 20 minutes.

You sign on to the county web site to get an appointment and they will send you notification when they get vaccine to cover your place in queue. It took us about 5 weeks when they were ramping up production to get our first shot. The second dose is automatically scheduled.

FEMA in surrounding counties are duplicating the recipe.

DD was able to use the distribution list and find out when CVS opened up their appointment slots based on anticipated vaccine distribution at 5:00 AM.

I did not see those kind of tools in Colorado.

I would like to do my part to combat the spread of Covid through a vaccination. I have spent too many hours looking for a Covid appointment. I sincerely hope that my lack of success is not replicated and thousands of vaccine doses expire due to a lack of relatively easy access. It is difficult enough to get people to get a walk-up flu vaccine at any pharmacy.

I know Massachusetts has a help line to get an appointment. I feel bad that you eligible and hitting roadblocks. I'm not impressed with the searching for an appointment setup. Can you talk to your Prinary Dr for assistance? I think you should be able to get one sooner than later. It's an interesting approach. Over here in Portugal they call you not the other way around granted the rollout has been dismally slow. Good luck.

Seems pretty easy to get the shots in Steamboat Springs according to the local paper. I got mine back in Sept as part of the Moderna trial so I have no first hand knowledge. Check the online edition of the Steamboat Pilot and Today. They regularly report on vaccine availability.

if you want to make the 3 hour drive from Denver and make some turns as well as get vaccine, the snow is holding up fairly well.
