What an awesome plan. Country and rural living may boom, over the next few years. Go for it!
I already have country living/city convenience. I had planned to pay off this house and retire here; I like where I am. Now? Even before the pandemic, once I reconnected with Stacey last summer (hs friend) and visited a couple times, I just started getting so many ideas. Many I would have liked to do here, but 1.5 ac has limits that 30 ac doesn't.
I have been torn for a while. Now, it's a valid option for cutting my expenses to nearly nothing, a very helpful option to have for the unknown impacts of financial crisis on me. That's a rough start over, tho, after all these years of modern conveniences ... I'm mid 50s in decent shape, so do-able for quite a while to help build the place out.
There is always tomorrow to decide to move, but once I leave this shanty in the woods, I can't have it back. I know this place suits me, but I could be dead wrong about truly enjoying living in the woods. I will tread carefully on such a big decision.
