Someone mentioned trying for a Marriott HH property during Flexchange- What is that and how do I do it? I have two Marriott Manor Club two bdrms and I would love to take even a one bedroom at the three resorts mentioned.

Hilton Head exchange

Hilton Head Marriotts only have 2br units. If you're going to go flexchange to HHI don't use your Manor Club 2 br unit, use the a/c you get when you deposit your 2 br Manor Club to Interval. Should be easy to find HHI flexchange in gold season for $299 with the a/c.

Using a 1 bedroom to request a 2 bedroom - certain resorts

Looking at page 502 in my 2006/07 II directory under Marriott Internal Exchange Procedures and Priorities

"#6. Marriott Owners of one-bedroom unit weeks at Marriott's Aruba Ocean Club, Marriott's Custom House, Marriott's Grande Vista, Marriott's Kauai Beach Club, Marriott's Maui Ocean Club, and Marriott's Mountain Valley Lodge at Breckenridge are elegible to request two-bedroom units at Marriott Resorts which do not have one-bedroom units."

Is this different than what is being talked about above with regards to Custom House?

Guess what? I never got an A/C when I deposited the 2 weeks this morning. What's up with that? Is it something I should as for? Where do you find the two bdrm gold season HH resorts. When I do a search with my week I only get Gold season with the Manor Club Platinum. I guess I am doing something wrong.

I've gotten GO twice in the summer with a 1 bedroom OP.

Right now I've got another request in for the week before Memorial Day using a 1 bedroom OP. I figure if it's a possibility it may happen at the last minute when someone dumps a late deposit in II (like Art said). Have to stay flexible.

Just opened my inbox and found a confirmation from II for my GO request. :D I know it's not a peak summer week, it's week 21 (just before Memorial Day) but it's still pretty high in the II Travel Demand Index. Just one notch over mid-way in the "Greatest Demand" section. I put this request in Nov. 15.

Works for me, we're off the island before the big crowds get there.

BTW, my other two requests for summer at GO using a 1 bedroom were filled outside the 60 day window.

Sure, you can request all you like. What you get in return is similar to the result you get when buying lottery tix.

This is different than what some are saying. If I understand correctly, some are saying that owners at Custom House can actually put in a search specifying 2 BR units even at resorts that have 1 BR units potentially available and that CH owners are the only one that can do so. The truth is that at this time, anyone can search for units at resorts that only have 2 BR units, the question is what is your chance of success, as tompk is pointing out. And it's not that uncommon for one to be searching for a 1 BR and actually match a 2 BR.
