I am thinking about selling or giving up my timeshares x 3 at Sheraton Vistana Resort as I live in the UK and getting over to Florida is getting more difficult due to ill health. Exchanging for UK resorts is quite difficult and doesn't seem to be worth it for UK vacations as I can get vacation places here for less than the maintenance fees.

Is there a rule of thumb which will give me an idea if my timeshares are worth anything or should I just give them up?

It has little or no value, but we have a forum here on TUG where you can give them away:

Don't be scammed by someone who tells you they can sell them for a lot of money, but requires you to pay them a significant amount of money upfront: that is always a scam.

You haven't really mentioned what you own... season? # of bedrooms? fixed or float?

Either way, Denise is right - the resale value is minimal because a resale buyer cannot use the Staroptions at this resort which reduces the utility substantially. And maintenance fees often exceed rental values in Orlando too.

Here are some recent eBay auctions (that appear to have completed with a sale) that you can look at:

Sheraton Vistana Resort Fountains | eBay

Annual Float Week 42 @ Sheraton Vistana Resort! Free 2021 Use! | eBay

2BR/2BA SHERATON VISTANA RESORT - FOUNTAINS, ORLANDO, FLORIDA, TIMESHARE | eBay

When looking at eBay it's important to distinguish between a timeshare sale or a rental of a single week in a given year.

eBay is not the best venue to sell a timeshare but you can see that prices are very low and sellers have to often pay for closing costs or offer a free year of usage in order to entice buyers.

Unfortunately, no resale value to Vistana in Orlando, but some would take it for free. You just have to find the right person who wants the week or weeks. You could always trade with Interval International and get something closer to home.

There are a plethora of II trades available in Europe but unfortunately timeshares up against a very competitive 'package deal' market and as the poster mentions for the same price as their maintenance fees they could probably get a package deal for a family that includes flights and food.

I have 3 X fixed week in Cascades 2 bed Villa. Week 8 even year. Week 44 Odd year. Week 29 Odd year (LOCK OFF).

Thanks for responses so far, very informative.
